Square One Disney Store CLOSED...

I was at Square One this morning and saw that the Square One Disney store has closed. I went by the information desk and apparently they are closed for renovation and should be re-opening in April. Did anyone else know about this?

wow...that was fast because I was there on christmas eve and they were still up and running. They also still had a lot of inventory and showed no sign of closing or renovating.

Hmm....hopfully they are actually renovating and not just closing. Its the only location near me to get my disney fix.

I'm confident that they are renovating. The girl at the information desk had to refer to a sheet that said they are re-opening in April. But it certainly caught me off guard too. I thought they would have advertised a "renovation" sale or something. I wonder if the Eaton Centre store will be renovated too. The Vaughan Mills store is going under (or completed?) a reno, so maybe they are revamping them all.

They closed all but one of the Toronto stores (Eaton Centre) for good, and are renovating the Square One store. Look for my Fairview Mall thread for info.

Horrific decision, but there's been so many over the past decade with regards to Canadians and Disney. No catalogues, no free shipping form disneystore.com, removing all the good high end merch from the Disney stores before closing them all together. Now they expect everyone in Toronto to hike over to Square One? Enough is enough.

The Vaughan Mills store reopened in the Fall last year

Yes, they are reopening in April.

I was there on Sunday and saw a lot of people there and empty shelves.
They were having unbelievable prices.

Ariel costume: 6.99, down from 40.00
Ariel doll and several princes: 5.00 down from 16.00 (I think)
Mickey/Minnie cell phones: .99 down from 5.62
Disneyland Official Guide book: 4.99, down from 16.50
Small Goofy plush toy: 1.99 (don't know the regular price)
Many other things....

The cast member yelling made sure to mention they were reopening in April.

I guess we'll never see those prices again.

You're not talking about Square One, are you? That one is closed until spring.

I thought that Vaughan Mills mall was called Square One. Didn't realize that it's not in Vaughan Mills but in Mississauga. It was the one in Vaughan that I called. So yeah... I didn't call Square One....

Has anyone been to the one in Vaughan Mills mall?
How's that one? Do they have a lot of product?
