The original Spy Kids was done by Miramax. SK's 2 & 3D are by Dimension. Is Dimension somehow related or owned by Disney ? If not, how did Miramax lose SK's to Dimension ?

All three Spy Kids movies are from Dimension Films, a subsidiary of Miramax Films. Miramax launched Dimension in 1992. While Miramax is known for arthouse movies, Dimension is best known for horror movies, such as Wes Craven's "Scream."

Miramax has been owned by The Walt Disney Company since 1993.

So nobody lost anything.

So in a round about way, SK 3D is a Disney film...correct ?
Yes, and so are "Hellraiser: Inferno," "Halloween: Resurrection," and "Russell Mulcahy's Tale Of The Mummy."

But it should noted that although Disney owns Miramax/Dimension, the companies are run by the Harvey and Bob Weinstein, whose contract with Disney grants them a great deal of freedom in running Miramax/Dimension.
