Springtime Surprise Weekend (April 13-16, 2023)

So strategy….
friends 5k
Than challenge for self
Than go back to merch

Work?
Do both registrations in the same transaction for sure. Whichever one you do first won't matter because you aren't guaranteed them until you pay. Do merch separately after you've paid for your registrations.

Okay so that was a question I had because it’s been so long since I’ve done something that isn’t Dopey. And I tried reading over the post to ease anxiety but apparently missed the part about picking multiple races?

How do I pick two registrations at the same time? Because the post didn’t seem to mention how to do that

(Please note I’m sick so if I’m misunderstanding something let me know)

Because I’m trying for the 5k and 10 miler for myself.

My plan was to pay for hers than do mine in the next queue that opened in my set up so the 5k wouldn’t sell out in the time it took to add my challenge information

This or same transaction as like you said there are no holds

The challenge sold out first last year I think? I'd have to go back and look, but it was INSANELY fast and a lot of people were really upset about it. Could it have been because of the themes? Maybe. But there's no way of knowing for sure and your 2nd queue could be an hour behind the first.

@StarGirl11 there's a button at the bottom when you get through all of the menus for the first registration that will say "add another registration" and you choose that and it takes you to a whole new, ready-to-be-completed registration page. I'll go look for some of the pics that Billy has on here and quote them in here so you know what to look for, unless someone else beats me to it.

No new info on perfect status right? I did the 10 miler last year and was still wondering if it's for the long distance like the other weekends or only the challenge?

I figured having one thread for historical race weekend sell out timing would be useful. There's always a lot of hand wringing over the registration process and the timing of sell outs. So I figured some historical data would be useful for those discussions in one easily findable collection of information. I'll updated this thread after each weekend's registration.

Spring Surprise

2022

Start (link)
5k sold out in 19 min (link)
Challenge sold out in 35 min (link)
10k sold out in month (Dec 9th to Jan 10th) (link)
10 miler and Yoga still open as of 1/28/22
This has everything. The sell out times and a link to what registration looks like, which should include that "add another registration" button

The solo event 5k will likely sell out the fastest because the Challenge for this weekend combines with the 5k. If they have the same number of 5k participants (roughly 12000-14000) then the challenge is pulling from that pool just as solo 5k event runners are. So the 5k will likely go very quickly. Best bet is the advice below:

5K - Do I hit the register button right at 10:00 am? Or a little before? Or a little after?

Registration Run-Down w/ Images! (A comprehensive run-down of the registration process) & Part 2

It appears from the Wine and Dine 2021 registration that each attempt to enter the queue is given a queue ID. And these queue IDs appear to enter the actual registration page at different times. It's important to note that the same browser with multiple windows will be given only a single Queue ID in each window unless you're working in Incognito Mode (link on how to do Incognito). So the advice remains, multiple different browsers, on multiple different devices, opened at multiple different times (both before and after the official registration time begins). This will maximize your chances and minimize your wait.

@Herding_Cats and @DopeyBadger Thanks! For both the information on adding a registration and the time to sell out. That tells me I need to definitely go for the 5k first.

Which is what I figured but again rusty since my registration has been pretty much Dopey for the last 5 years.

And this will be my first race in a chair so not ready yet for three early mornings back to back. So no challenge yet.

I have three browsers open. One (the first challenge button I clicked) is waiting for Challenge registration to open. The other two say that it has already closed.

And the Challenge is back to "Registration Opening Soon." Disney IT FTW.

I believe historically there is no mention of official perfect status or whether a race will qualify as eligible for perfect status until after four years of the event. So it's unlikely we'll know definitively for a few more years.

There does not seem to be one correct way, and the algorithm that rD uses may have changed over the last couple of years....or not. Many people open multiple browsers which seems to be a very good idea; if you do then you may want to open some before 10:00 and some right after (or even seconds after) 10:00.

Queue was open for like a minute. (I know early but hey wouldn’t be the first time). But looks like they’re still messing around since it said it was full and then the link was gone

Anyone else getting this page? I X'ed out the log-in screen when it popped up since I'm not actually registering. There's no queue ID, and if one doesn't pop up, I'll be closing my browsers as my intention is to share in here if I have a shorter window.

Challenge button is live!! *doh* but then it says registration has not opened yet booooo

Now it says it's closed that it reached maximum number of participants lol
I Just had a heart attack, saw it was open so clicked, then got the screen saying it was already sold out. My heart sank, but I was like "I just looked at this page 5 seconds ago, it just popped up when I refreshed, how can that be?!!!!" I have just been refreshing for the last 10 minutes, and boom it pops up and kills my spirit immediately lol

when I went back it showed it wasn't open yet, I think it's just Disney IT being Disney IT

Also saw that agree with @Sarahslay that it typical Disney IT. Especially since it only showed one link.
