Springtime Surprise 2026 (Apr 16-20)

I'm going with Mando/SW because the Mandolorian movie comes out toward the end of May, because it's the 5th year (right??) and because it's what the people want.

I have slightly less than zero hope for a return of SW. And even less hope that if they do bring back a SW theme that they’ll remember bringing in the 501st was a critical element of making SW races a success.

But I might sorta kinda also be holding a pair of black running shoes back from too much mileage on them just in case..

We ran the inaugural SW 10k and would just LOVE IT if it is SW themed. Who here remembers running a small path of dirt on that course .

I mean at least the hodgepodge would have a vague theme
Year 1: a celebration of yestermorrow
Year 2: Pixar Pals
Year 3: passport to adventure
Year 4: Heroes

Ok, I am SO close to talking my sister into joining me. Looking at old maps, it looks like the 10 miler goes through Galaxy’s Edge - is that accurate? She’s a huge Star Wars fan so this may be how I get her to commit! If anyone has pics I’d be super grateful!

It does! This is actually what made me sign up for the 2024 race. However, be aware that the course only runs along the outside portion and doesn’t go past the Falcon or the shuttle. It’s very minimal time in that area and they didn’t have any character meets there either.

Correct, and although it’s not a guarantee that it’ll go through there again it’s a very solid bet, they’ve done so for every 10 miler since they started this weekend.

For a race weekend with a Surprise in the name, I hope our surprise this year is more than a different theme.

I wouldn't hold my breath, we haven't gotten any surprises in the first 4 years (other than the night 5K the first year, which got cut short due to storms)

Key to this is that they clearly prefer having the start and finish for all races in one place (Epcot).
