Spring "What are you reading?" Book Thread

If you LOOOOOOOVE the Outlander series like I do,, and you are looking for something similar, try the Wilderness series by Sara Donati. She just published the newest one & I am re-reading the others first.

Thanks!!

We are leaving for WDW tomorrow and of course had to visit the bookstore for the trip. I got Little Bee, Look Again, and Sarah's Key - don't know which 2 to bring they all seem so good - any suggestions?

I am an "Outlander" series addict......they are soooooo worth reading.:dance3::dance3::dance3:

YES! I haven't read the last book yet though..I think it was too long between books and I've kind of forgotten what is going on, so seems daunting to start back.
I've just discovered Greg Iles..very good..and Lee Child has a new book in PB (I get a free PB a week at my second job, so seems wasteful to buy HB or oversize PB now) Dean Koontz is another favorite, and Restless will be out in PB soon as well as another Frankenstein

I just got "Look Again" by Lisa Scottoline from Amazon today. I saw a review for it in People magazine!

I read this, it was really good! I just got another of her book's, Mistaken Identity.

Kingdom Keepers III comes out Tuesday 4/6. Dd is anxiously awaiting this one!

Yes, they incorporate the same characters a bit..very odd to see Outlander folk pop up...and Giana Gabaldon is mentioned in her notes. Also, the Greg Iles one I just finished..Black Cross thanks Diana Gabaldon for her highlander expertise.

I'm reading Reunion on my Kindle right now. I never heard of the book before, but a few people recommended it on the Kindle forum and I really like it so far. I read The Shack a few weeks ago and that book made me cry more than once. After Reunion, I plan on reading Outlander. I actually got Outlander from the library and read only a few chapters. I liked the book, but the print was so small and the book was so thick as a paperback that it hurt my hands to keep it open. I think it will be a perfect book for my Kindle.

I just finished the Kingdom Keepers II. I didnt know the third would be out so soon. I think the first one was better, but I still enjoyed the second. I also really enjoyed the Nanny Diaries and the second book Nany Returns.
I enjoyed the Au Pair series and now am getting into the House of Night series. Read both Lauren Conrad books and they were pretty enjoyable. I like a lot of young adult books because they are easy fun reads.

I'm reading the latest book in Diana Gabaldon's series. This one is "An Echo in the Bone". Love this series!

I just started reading the first Kingdom Keepers book yesterday. Pretty interesting so far, can't wait to see where it goes.

I like these series books. I just read all of the Harry Potter books last year and I'm on the 4th Percy Jackson book right now.

I really loved both of these series and have read many of the books several times.

I would also recommend the Bronze Horseman trilogy to anyone who enjoys historical fiction. They are set in Russia during WWII. I have not read the final one yet (I am waiting for it through inter-library loan) but I really enjoyed the first two and cannot wait to see how their story ends.

For those who may be interested, the novels are by Paullina Simons. 1) The Bronze Horseman 2) Tatiana and Alexander 3) The Summer Garden

Love all the suggestions so far....keep them coming!

I'm reading
The Spellman's Strike Again

The 4th book in Lisa Lutz's Spellman's series.

I've also been in the process of converting a bunch of audiobook files over to my iTunes this week. I don't know why because I usually don't like audiobooks much, but I've been in the mood to just listen lately.

I am in class right now so I am reading my text books but my ecology teacher recommended and I will be reading starting May 30. Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingslover. It is a true account of a family who lived on food grown or raised within 50 miles of their home for a year.

I finished The Wednesday Sisters last month. It was cute, but incredibly predictable. It's a good "beach read." I just started Water for Elephants, but I probably will not begin reading it in earnest until May. In the meantime, I will continue reading science textbooks and loads of plays so I can pass my exams and whatnot. :sad2:

I'm also excited to read Harlan Coben's new book, Caught, which is being released Tuesday 03/30. His are always worth the wait!

Along the same lines, I am reading Michael Pollan's In Defense of Food. I'm on the waiting list for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo at my library for my book club.

Just got House Rules by Jodie Picoult yesterday so looking forward to starting that, recently finished Castaways by Elin Hildabrandt, which I really enjoyed.

I"ve just finished reading Bulls Island and Return To Sullivan's Island by Dorothea Benton Frank. (She has a book called Sullivan's Island as well) She is my favorite Author. Her style is so fun. Most of her books are about growing up on the islands of South Carolina. They're extremely funny and just great stories for women. Especially if you live or have lived in the South. I haven't read anything by her that I didn't like. She's one of those writers that you can't WAIT to get her new book and then when it's over, you're sad because you doing know when the next one will be out.
I've only read one of her books (can't remember the name) but I don know that I loved it!

Another HUGE Outlander Series fan here. The best part about another Outlander book coming out is going back and reading the whole series start to finish to "prep".

I just read "Cleopatra's Daughter" by Michelle Moran. Really liked it. I just got her "Nefertiti" out of the library.

I will def. check out the Wilderness Series.

The kids and I are anxiously awaiting the next Kingdom Keepers and the first book in a new series by Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson) is coming out soon.

I LOVED The Help. Also, The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo and then The Girl Who Played with Fire. These can be hardish to get into but so good once you get through the first 30 pages.

I am also reading Faking It on my Kindle and like it for a "fluffy" summer read.

I am just about to read Still Alice for my book group. It looks fabulous.

I also highly recommend the entire "Shopaholic" series, read in order. So funny and eays to read. It was my summer reading last summer.
