Spring Break - switching resorts at 7 months?

We are planning for March 2008 - the week of Easter. I know it will be insanely crowded, but thats when we have the break! We are currently scheduled at AKV for part, and BCV for part, since those are the points I had available to book at 11 months. We really don't like the hassle of moving in the middle of a trip. So what are the chances of being able to get the entire stay at one resort at the 7 month mark? We are not set on one locations - but would like to be AKV, BVC, or BWV (with Boardwalk view, if at all possible). Is there any chance?

Decide where you'd like to stay most and put yourself on the waiting list. I believe they will immediately change your ressie if one opens up, so be sure you really want to switch. There is no way to predict if you will get what you want...Last year we really wanted to stay at BWV and it opened up for us last minute. That wound up costing us a bundle as we loved it so much we bought more points!

As far as switching resorts, we've done it many times before we'd tried all the WDW resorts.. WDW makes the move hassle free! They pick up your luggage in your room, transfer it to the next resort and deliver it to your new room.

It probably depends on the type of accommodation you want. I booked a studio at BCV for the week before Easter and I've currently got a studio for 2 nights at AKL and will book the third night on Monday. I wasn't expecting any availability at either resort so either I'm doing the right thing booking day to day, people are off-put by the high points or studios are not as popular. Call MS and see, you may be surprised and get exactly what you're looking for.

Sending some pixie dust your way :)

I just finished doing a day by day switch to use my VWL points instead of my AKV points for a 2 bedroom savanna view villa the Sat/Sun/Mon nights before Easter. To switch points at the 7 month mark, that room style had to be available to book and it was (much to my surprise.) I'm guessing the high point cost is the reason since only 5 nights add up to 292 points.

I would aim for trying to get all of your days at AKL. Even if you have to waitlist, the odds of it comming thru are excellent, because new AKL units are dumped into the system monthly as the refurbishments are done. When they are added into inventory, Waitlist people have first dibs on them.
