Well, I am waiting for the laundry to finish, so why not start a PTR for our March 2012 Spring Break Trip.
We are going March 23 through March 29th because DH is a teacher and that is when he is off school. He is also a worry-wart, so we are coming back 3 days earlier than I want so he can be prepared for school to start again. He takes his teaching very seriously.
This will be our first trip to Disney as a family. DH and I were there in 1998 when we were still in college, but now we are married with a DD age 2 1/2.
So here is us......

This is a picture from last Xmas, so DD looks totally different now, but DH and I look pretty much the same.

Well crumbs, the picture didn't post.
I am my company's webmaster, so you would think I could figure these things out.
Alas.
I will go research and come back.....

OK-
So we are arriving in Orlando on 3/23 and I think we are taking Magical Express to our resort. We are staying a Coronado Springs.
I am thinking I will probably get a stroller for DD from the Orlando Stroller Rentals so we can have it at the resort as well as the parks. We'll be taking the buses to and from the parks every day.
Hoping to be there for rope drop every morning since DD gets us up at 6am every morning anyway.
Haven't heard much about the breakfast options at CS, but I am hoping they have waffles, peanut butter, and fruit because that is pretty much what DD will eat every day.
All I am concerned about it where I can get a really big cup of coffee

Hi! We're going to be at CSR just before you! We love CSR, we stayed there last year. we enjoy Pepper Market breakfasts, and really liked the breakfast sandwiches from Cafe Rix. We rented our stroller from Magic Strollers last time and had REALLY great service!

Ok - So we will arrive on 3/23
Depending on what time we get in (I still have not booked a flight) we will either go straight to the hotel and check in, or stop at a grocery store to pick up some milk, cereal, fruit, etc. I am still debating on whether or not we should rent a car or take Magical Express. Of course if we take ME, then we can't stop at a grocery store which will save us money on B,L & D, but if we don't take ME then we have to pay money to rent the car. Decisions, decisions!
I wish I had someone to talk this over with. My DH has been pretty overwhelmed with work and illness (not serious, just a crummy cold that keeps hanging on) and never wants to talk about it. Says we have loads of time to figure it all out. Meanwhile airfare and car rental prices continue to rise!!!

Past all that, we will go to our first park on 3/24. I picked Epcot as our starter park, the first my DD will see. I read that it was better to start with Epcot and do MK the following day. We'll see! I really hope she likes it! I understand I am putting a lot of pressure on a 2 1/2 year old, but I really, really, want her to be amazed and think it is wonderful!

We plan to take her to Nemo and Friends and Journey into Imagination. Then just stroll through the lands and let her see what she wants to. I heard Sunshine Seasons is THE place to eat lunch, so we will hopefully get to do that. I would like to take her on the Maelstrom, but someone recently told me that she has to be 3 to go on, even if she is tall enough. Anyone know if this is true?

Well, I hope it wasn't my worst move ever, but I booked us tickets on the March 23rd flight on Spirit Airlines. They were cheaper than anything else I could find by about $600. So I am taking a $600 risk.
I paid for assigned seats, I paid for bags, I paid all the extra fees and it was still $1030 for three of us round trip to MCO. We can bring our own water and snacks and sit cramped for under 3 hours. So...
Now it is official, We are going to Disney World!!! :yay:

Next stop THE MAGIC KINGDOM!
I can not even tell you how fantastically excited I am to take my daughter to MK for the 1st time. She will be almost 3, and I just know she will love it.
I am hoping to be there for rope drop so we can get in some Fantasyland rides before it gets too insanely crowded (which it will I know)
Here are the rides I hope to take her on...
Dumbo (of course)
Peter Pan
Winnie the Pooh
Small World
Jungle Cruise
Pirates of the Caribbean

I also want to take her on the Buzz Lightyear ride, but I don't know if she'll get it. I know she won't get the arcade game concept, but hopefully she'll like riding the ride anyway. Also, I want to take her on Haunted Mansion, but I am scared she'll get scared. I was always terrified as a child, but she seems a lot hardier than I. Anyone else take their 3 year old and NOT have them scarred for life??:scared1:

Anything else that is a MUST DO for an almost 3 year old at MK? DH and I haven't been to MK since 1998, so anything new we should be aware of?

Oh - I almost forgot, the morning of MK we have a Crystal Palace Character breakfast with Pooh Bear and Friends. Does Mickey ever show up at the one? or is it just Pooh Bear's friends from the Hundred Acre Woods. No matter if MM doesn't make an appearance, I am sure we'll stand in line for the character meet and greet for MM anyway.

Just stoppin' in to say hi!

We'll be there March 8th - 16th... Staying at POFQ. We'll miss you by a few days.

CP only has Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger - as far as I know, MM has never showed up at this breakfast... You'd have to go to Chef Mickey's to see him for breakfast (I am drawing a blank if he is anywhere else though).

I love your dd in her Belle dress - super cute! I miss my girls being that age - it was so much fun and they grow so fast!

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip! :thumbsup2
