Hi, so when is the official "spring break" in Florida
I have an opportunity to go in March but I really don't want to go with tons of crowds
thanks!!!

Do you mean for people who live here? We are over by Cape Canaveral and ours is the the week of 22 March. Honestly, we were there is past weekend and it was crowded. I see from now until April it being crazy with a little break in May before the summer rush.

It will be crowded. Pretty much constantly in March up until April/Easter. However, it depends on what your goals are. I went the week leading up to Easter in 2012 with a 15 year old and a 17 year old, and we had a fantastic time. We arrived somewhat after rope drop, stayed until things got crowded, chilled at the resort in the afternoons, had dinner, and then headed to whatever park had late EMH. We stayed at MK until 1am a couple of nights at 3am one night. Had we had small kids, that week would have been less fun, but we had a fantastic time.

DITTO! I was there the last week of February 214 and was taken aback at how crowded it was. I was back again first weekend in May and same story.

Personally I would just go. There is no slow time anymore as you can see from folks who are returning from historically "slow" times. There seems to be no avoiding crowds no matter when you go. It's either crowded or really crowded. Go, have fun, use fp, pack your patience. It will be fine. Schools all over the country will have breaks. Most elementary schools will have breaks in April. I think colleges are in March.

Anytime between this weekend and the middle of April is going to be spring break season. It will be crowded no matter when. Easter is early this year (April 5), when Easter is later the season can continue through the month of April.

Our schools have mid winter vacation in February for a week and then another week in mid April (doesn't really vary for whether Easter is early or late). Many people from my area probably head for WDW at that time

We were there the week of March 8 last year, and it was fine. FP+ really helped. We slept in every day, scheduled our fast passes for the afternoon, had a table service dinner, rode more rides, then stayed until park close. Don't cancel. We never had crowd issues.

"Spring break" season for WDW stretches over several weeks. That's because schools all over the country have different spring breaks. Some schools' breaks are tied to Easter, and some aren't, so the date that Easter falls on in any given year can really impact predicted crowds that year.

I'd recommend that you check out a crowd-calendar site like the one on easywdw.com. Look for the month you're interested in, then check out the crowd levels for each day. Here's the crowd calendar for March 2015:

http://www.easywdw.com/category/calendar/03-march-2015-crowd-calendar/

You'll notice that the first week of March is pretty good - most days are a 5 out of 10 for crowds. But starting the second week of March, the numbers reach anywhere from a 7 to a 9 most days (10 being the most crowded). So if you can stick to the first week, you should be okay. AFter that, it will be very crowded. Generally, "spring break" season is the busiest time of year after the last two weeks of December!
