Day 2 - Magic Kingdom
Day 1 - Arrival

Da Crew:
Me, 20 year old college student attending Pace University in New York City, but originally from Connecticut. I'm a Disney Nut(or as my parents call me, Disney Nazi).
Allon "Spock" Moore: Fraternity Brother who is coming with me down there. It took some doing, but I got him to go.
"Money Talks": Our new cab driver who says alot of things to us, most of which none of us understand.
This morning, I had the wakeup call come about 10 minutes earlier so we would not have to eat like crazy at breakfast. Well, the call came and we still got to breakfast at the same time. Oh well, Hakuna Matata! Our driver, "Money Talks" showed up exactly on time, though, he made us meet him in the parking lot of the Perkins across the street. I couldnt exactly understand what he said about why but we really didnt care. We were off to MGM!
We got to MGM's gate at about 8:15 and was told by our driver he would not drive us in because of toll, but rather, would drop us off at Disney Boardwalk and we could walk in to MGM for free. Now, being college students, we appreciate saving money, but this kind of irked us. We shrugged and followed along. Let me tell you, if you can afford to stay at Disney Boardwalk for a week, you've made it in life, thats all I have to say.
We walked on the path from Boardwalk to MGM(It looks like a great place in WDW to jog for people who want to exercise, although, I would figure the miles of walking in the parks would do the trick by itself
) because the ferry wasnt going to be running until 8:30 so we knew we could get there faster. Once again, all the guests were being held at the gate and it wasnt until 8:45 they let us past the gate, only to be stopped at the intersection of Hollywood and Sunset by a big rope. At 9:00 they opened the park and we were "escorted" by a CM down Sunset Blvd, with a mob of people behind us. We got on line for RnR very quickly and got the front seat(!). Riding that one ride is just unbelievable. We got off, and I had a pain in my chest. I guess the 0-60 in the front hurt my diaphragm or something so all you could hear when we walked through the gift shop was me saying, "Ohhhh, my diaphragm.....my diaphragm!" It was hysterical.
Next it was onto ToT. Now, heres why opening the park at 9 and not somewhat before is wrong. The second ride of the day, at 9:15 had a 45 minute wait allready! Of course, its never as bad as the sign said, but I've never experience a line like that so early. I had Spock fastpass ToT so we could ride it later as well. Once we got on the ride, ToT did not dissapoint and we had a great time.
We rode next Star Tours and Great Movie Ride. Based on what happened in Mk yesterday, I thought Spock would not have enjoyed TGMR, but he did find it rather interesting. In fact, he even enjoyed The Magic of Disney Animation Tour which blew me away, as that seemed waaaaaaaay too "un-six flagish" for him. I guess some of my Disney Nazism was rubbing off
Next was Who Wants to be a Millionaire. What great fun! I tried my best to be at least in the Top 10, and I couldnt! I cheated my heart out(Glancing at neighboors pads, yelling wrong answers to people around me, the works!) and I still could not. I tell ya, unless your from Texas, you have no shot at getting on. Go figure that everyone who got on was from Texas. It was still loads of fun!
We did a few other rides(Fastpassing ToT and RnR as much as humanly possible) and ate lunch at ABC Commissary. It was packed more than usual, but we got through the lines with ease and found a table with no problems. My theory that ABC Commissary is the best value for lunch in MGM outside the Brown Derby still holds true IMHO.
After lunch, we did Muppets and I still love the old geezers in the balcony and especially the Swedish chef as when he first talks, everyone in the theater has a "Huh?" look on their face. After Muppets, we did the Backlot Tour. If anyone was here that day(3/13) and did the Backlot Tour at around 3:30, we were the morons who volunteered
It was tons of fun, although, I was nervous as heck before. We saw the show and then Spock volonteered us for the next one. We suited up and he was the Engineer and I was the Captain. Let me tell you, if you ever volunteer, NEVER be the bridge crew! They just stand around and wait to get shot. It's funny to watch, but not to be. Luckily for me, I was the Captain and pulled out the corniest rendition of a stupid PT boat Captain I could muster. I just wish Disney gave you a video of your performance 
It was still loads of fun and knowing that it was inevitable that we would get soaked, I jumped the gun on the explosions and hid under the dash, only peering above the dash between soakings. 
The crowd loved it! Very good fun and if you have the stomach for it, do it!
After that, we got on line for the Indiana Jones stunt show and saw it. It's still a great show. However, we realized we had to go get the shuttle bus back to our hotel if we wanted to get back for free(Remember, when college students hear the word free, you'll need divine intervention to stop them) we had to leave the park. The only ride I really missed was Sounds Dangerous. I also took out the shows from our itinerary as I felt Spock would not enjoy shows like Little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast based on what happened at MK.
We actually found our bus this time(Yay us!) and found that there was a good reason it was free. It was packed and no A/C. Luckily our hotel was the first stop so it was bareable. I just kept telling myself, "This bus is free. I can keep my money. There will be tons of A/C in the hotel room."
We got in and I quickly found that I had an unrelenting desire to sleep. I took a quick nap(an hour or so) and finished out the day in the hotel, watching tv, playing air hockey(If theres one thing I've gotten out of this trip, its that Im an air hockey pro now ), among other things.
Things I've Learned
Disney Nazi's can appeal to all - In the MK yesterday, I had trouble keeping Spock interested as he was more interested in being thrilled all the time. A true Disney Nazi, such as myself, can make it so the peons, err....people, in their group buy into having a good time. I accomplished this goal by skipping some shows I anticipated he would not like and focusing on the other ones. Kudos to me!
Free is free - When things are free, they are for reasons and you just need to keep telling yourself that its free.
Disney forgot to mark that its spring break - Following the pattern in MK, they opened the park waaay too late again, resulting in an overflow of people. Next year, Im sending them a copy of my school's calander so they can be prepared for lots of people. No Kudos, and more coal!
