Spring Break 2020

Am I completely insane to consider planning a vacation to Disneyland during spring break? We have always avoided spring break because of crowds but honestly the last couple of times we’ve gone (based on crowd prediction) it has been packed anyways. Spring break would be better now that my kids are in school.

I don't think you're insane. I can't speak to crowds, but this is the last year we have for non-school break travel as my son will start school next fall. It kind of is what it is Also, I understand from reading here that peak season travel means peak season hours, staffing, and ride operations, so altogether probably a pretty good deal!

We went the first week in April 2018. It was busy but we knew that going in, we got everything done we wanted to do multiple times. I feel like someone said there is a thread on here where people list their areas spring breaks. I can't find it but maybe someone else can link to it. Perhaps your spring break is one of the weird ones that is off of other people's, wishful thinking!

We went this past spring in the 2nd week of March and it was fine. Busy, but not insanely busy like it is there this week.

Any time at DLR is a great time -- crowds or no! Spring Break will mean longer hours, more staffing, less refurbs, more entertainment, etc. That = good news for you! Expect the crowds, do your planning and research, bring patience and a positive attitude, then go have a great time. Come back here when you're ready to start your trip planning. Easter is April 12, 2020. Dapper Days is April 19, 2020. I do not know if your Spring Break falls during those times, but the parks do see more people during these times.

I was also thinking of planning a trip in April. Sound like waiting till the end of the month might be good. I wish I could go for my birthday but that’s smack dab in the middle of spring break time. I usually pull my kids out of school to visit and try to avoid packed parks
