Spring Break 2010--Kidani at 7 months

We'd like to stay at Kidani next year for Spring Break (ours is the week after Easter, April 4-11, 2010). What do you think our chances will be of securing a room at Kidani Village at the 7 month mark?

Kidani will have so many rooms and so many of them are Savanna View, I think the chances will be good. We are currently booked in a Jambo 2BR value for Spring Break. However, if the in-laws don't come with us, we will try to switch to a 1BR at Kidani.

Our Spring Break is the same week. We are arriving on the 4th and staying the 4th and 5th at Jambo. Then, we are staying the 6th-9th in a 2BR at Kidani.

My parents are coming along too and this will be there first trip to the AKL! AKV is our home resort so I was already able to make our ressies. I was on the phone at 9am sharp (for both reservations) just to make absolutely sure we would be able to get the standard rooms. As a PP said, the majority of the resort is savanna view so that should be the easiest category to book. The concierge, value and standard rooms are the harder ones to get at AKV.

Yes, it's a big resort but that's a very popular and busy time of year. The 7 month mark may not be that easy, especially if you're looking for a studio, they do go very fast. Kristenrice, AKV is your home resort, did you make your reservation at 11 months? At the 7 month mark it may be different.

Oh yes....I was on the phone at 9am, 11 months in advance...once for the first 2 nights and then again 2 days later for the rest of our trip. We are using every point we have available (three years worth!) to secure standard rooms so I did not want to take any chances of no availability. If worse came to worse, we could have done our 2BR at Jambo if Kidani weren't available. We also could have sacrificed and done 2 studios for the whole trip, but that was an absolute last resort. I had enough points to do a standard 2BR for the whole trip, but that was before the reallocation. So, I got creative and this was the best option I could come up with. It should work out great and I am really looking forward to treating my parents to Jambo and Kidani on the same trip.

I agree that 7 months for spring break may be difficult. It is fairly certain that there will be no concierge or value availability. Standard may be tight as well. I think your best chance will be for a savanna view room. It is hard to speculate because this will be the first full year that Kidani is open. If you cannot get Kidani, don't give up on AKV altogether. Jambo is beautiful too!
