weird. how did your interview go?

I applied when it first came out. Did my WBI like 15 minutes later and schedualed my phone interview like an hour after that. ha

Apparently, what I heard is that around 8k apply for wdw and 6k get in. I dont know how many apply for DL but only about 350 get in according to my alumni friend. I really hope I get in.

Yikes lol... well good luck getting in. I was considering going Disney freak during my phone interview, now I'm definitely going Disney freak on the interview haha. I'd suggest you do the same since that will probably help set you apart from your typical person.

I keep checking my email and dashboard even though I know there's no way they made a decision yet...I can't imagine how much I'm going to check once we hear the first 'I got in!' on this board! :lmao:

i already check every few minutes. I don't think i could possibly check more than that. hell i even check if i wake up in the middle of the night. O.O and i don't even think i got in!!!

Is that eight thousand from the number of applicants, people who get a WBI, or people who get a phone interview?

i'm wondering that too. hopefully applicants cause you figure about 1 of every 8 people dont get through hthe WBI and that better increases my odds :D (selfish i know)

Here is me for the past two days:

I'm starting to feel nervous because I am either 5'3 to 5'5 and those inches will be the difference between awesome characters and... not so awesome characters, I think. Not sure. ): I'm pretty sure I'll make the audition because I'm extremely animated and I'm a dancer but still. I don't want to be Mickey Mouse or anything super awesome because I don't care about that, but I at least want to be able to be Chip and Dale or Suzy/Perla. I'm starting to feel really sad over this. sighghghhh.

EDIT: Whoops. Remeasured myself just now and found out that I'm 5'3! Chip, Dale, here I come!

So I never got any sort of confirmation e-mail so I called Disney today and they said that the e-mail got stuck. She said we would push me through and send me the e-mail to set up my phone interview. Yay! So I got excited.

But now (even though it's only been about an hour and a half later) the e-mail still hasn't come through! I'm beginning to wonder if I put the wrong e-mail in or something... but I can't imagine how I would make a mistake that silly!

I would wait til tomorrow before you get worried. That computer system they have is a real mess right now. :sad2: I'm sure they are just delayed in getting back to you.

I asked a recruiter yesterday how many actually apply and he said near 30k. and wdw accepts 7k and disneyland accepts 350. But you have to take into account how many get invited to the WBI, how many pass, How many schedule their PI in time, how many answer the phone, and then that might be down to 8k. Idk

I already had my interview last saturday. I would suggest to just relax, be very friendly and upbeat, smile, and just try to have fun. I think that is what they are looking for. I was very nervous, so if i dont get in, then it was because of my nerves I think. Its ok to be nervous, just try not to let it show too much in the interview

Lucky, my interviewer called me an HOUR early, so I wasnt prepared. I was very nervous. The first question was why this program. I froze for a bit, but then answered saying that it is the foundation I need to go into the working world boldly and confidently and to be able to ultimately change lives.

I was very very nervous, so I hope it doesnt effect anything. But I like my answers. They were pretty good, but hidden behind nerves

hey guys!
I just started my DIS board life today, I have my phone interview on Friday the 15th of September! and it is at 9:15AM, I am so nervous. I am just wondering if anyone has any last minute ideas or thing I should think about for my phone interview. and if there is anyone who can give me some practice example questions they may ask, thank you so much everyone!
-RYGUYWDWCP-

Good luck!
These are the questions I got asked:
Why do I want to do DCP
What are my top 3 roles and why
Would I be ok working in extreme heat and rain
Do I have tattoos and would I be ok with the Disney look
Why I was interested in being a Vacation Planner
How would you handle an angry guest
How would you handle an emergency situation
What would you do if you had a messy roommate
What would you do if a guest interrupts your work

And that's basically it. I didn't get any questions for my top role (attractions) or any situation questions :/

Also, don't forget to sound happy! I was so nervous I think I forgot lol

Instead of being asked why I wanted a role, she asked me why I would be a better fit than someone else in that role. I wasn't really expecting that. She also asked if I like working in teams or individually, and what pace I like to work at. She was really good though. She pretty much asked questions in a way that told me how she wanted me to answer. For example, "I guess I don't really need to ask this question because you work in MK, but what sort of pace do you feel comfortable working at?" ;)

Hi guys! :)
My phone interview is tomorrow and my top choice is PhotoPass photographer. Does anyone know any specific questions they ask for that role?

That was my top choice as well, and I think the only things they asked were why I wanted to do it and if I had any experience with the types of equipment they use. She also remarked (after I said something about liking to be right in the middle of the action) that they like their Photopass people to be "almost aggressively friendly." And mentioned that you have to be prepared for people to come up to you for directions and all sorts of random questions. Just something to keep in mind.

More troubles. Called Disney again today since I still wasn't receiving any e-mails. They said I put in the right e-mail and didn't understand why they weren't being sent, but agreed to change my e-mail.

So now she told me she would fwd along the e-mail for the phone interview to my e-mail. Well, I got two e-mails from her but neither of them contain any information. One is just a photo of college program workers. The other is her trying to recall the last e-mail (which she realized was just a photo.)

Sigh. This has been so frustrating. All I wanted was to apply early and here I am, a week later, behind as ever!

So can I get some opinions on this? During my interview she asked me if I was comfortable speaking in front of people because of some attractions that require that (like Jungle Cruise). I told her that my parents took me and my brother to Disney when we were really young, but that as we got a little older they started taking us to Universal, and that since then I always wanted to be the skipper on the Jaws ride... My question is will the fact that I brought up Universal destroy any chance I had? lol

Applied for Disneyland btw. But I'm from FL so I was referring to the Jaws ride in Orlando if that helps.
