Spring 2015 DCP

I'm seriously considering it! I'm a Freshman right now and I would be a Sophomore during Spring 2015! Like most of you I've basically been looking forward to this for years!! Hopefully everything will fall into place and I'll be fortunate enough to be a part of the Program then!

Hey, Good for you! I've got you beat by a few years but from what I have heard it's not unheard of. Are you serious?

I've been going to school to finish my degree for a few years part time. We could be roomies! LOL.

I am totally serious!
I'm going to take an archery class with my kid fall semester so I'll be eligible. I graduated from college a couple years earlier than most of the people on the program I bet, but I don't mind.

And I'm definitely looking for some older room mates! Private message me anytime!

I am soo jumping in here! Applying for the Spring '15 program, which I have been waiting to do since I heard about the program for the first time about three years ago! Needless to say I am pumped!!!


Is anyone out there looking for one roommate? I really don't want to share a room with three or six people...just doesn't seem ideal to me & since I know there are rooms for only two, I just figured I'd ask! Let me know!!

Count me in too! I'm Randi! I've been waiting almost four years now, I cannot believe the application date is so quickly approaching! I'm currently a senior at Penn State studying elementary education but I won't be graduating until December.

Me too! I graduate this December so it's my last chance! But I think the outlook is good. How old are you guys?

We're in the same boat! I'm slightly nervous about the chances of getting the CP as a graduated senior but fingers crossed that it all works out! Are you both 21/22?

Although I seriously wanted to do the Fall 2014 program, I am still pending and if things don't go well. I will definitely be applying for Spring 2015. I will let nothing stop me from this new start in my life. I want to move to Florida and open up a career for Disney. I don't know why Disney just go ahead and accept me now. Cause it's going to happen.

I am 21 now, 22 on program. I really want to be in the non wellness with some girls who aren't too crazy/hard parties! Haha

Same, I'm 21 now and will be turning 22 in September. Completely agree with non-wellness, I guess I can't entirely kick the college lifestyle but I definitely want to live with other individuals who are ready for a newer post-college pace.

Exactly. I am used to being independent and would prefer to be around those similar, not anyone who still has an immature mentality or wouldn't clean after themselves. Other than that, I could easily get along with any roommate.

Well, to be honest, I'm open to any position they'd offer me! But I have experience in retail and customer service, so probably something like that. I'm currently working with kids and I'm florida certified for child care too so if they have any positions pertaining to that it'd be cool! How about you?

I'm hoping for a hospitality/concierge position. My major is hospitality and I have been working in a country club and catering company for a few years. But I will still be okay with attractions or something. I just want to get in the door! It'll probably help that you are already certified in the state of FL. Me too-except in food/beverage management.

That sounds great! The main reason for me doing the CP is to get in the door too. My major is public relations and I'd love to work for Disney in the future!

Yeah, I'll finish school in the fall so hopefully I can stay on after the program. I'm trying to get and prepare as much info as possible now, so I can be prepared and ready when apps open in a few months.

Hi there! That sounds like a great plan. I mentioned earlier I am a Hospitality major too. Hopefully the DCP will open some doors to more permanent work. As far as concierge, there isn't a ton of info on it, as I have been looking for info since that's the area I would like too. If you haven't already, try reading the Frump Style DCP blog on here, she was concierge and gives a TON of info on the experience, although not a whole lot about concierge in particular, although that was her role.

I did read her blog, it was great but like you said not a ton on concierge itself what college do you go to right now? I love Disney and most defiantly have thought about it as a future career.

I go to the University of West Florida, it's in Pensacola. How about you? And I really think once you get in there, you have a good chance of continuing with the company. And if nothing else, Orlando has more hospitality jobs than anywhere else out there.

I totally agree! Right now I'm at our community college it's in upstate New York, I want to transfer to either Niagara U or Rosen, part of UCF. I really am looking froward to applying
