How would you explain the change then? I am not saying he masterminded, I am saying there seems to be a very hard to explain anomaly that happened after. This happened to the very same team that suddenly had deflated balls in NFC championship game. Laughing that off I think is wrong.
What needs to be explained? This isn't too difficult to figure out. QB's like balls a certain way based on feel. In fact, please show me ONE QB that actually puts a PSI test to the ball himself ...none of them do. Do you know why? Because the refs never check the balls -you submit the balls you like, the ref shows up, puts his uniform on, walks over to the balls, checks the laces, gives it a squeeze and a spin and throws it back in the pile and checks another one. There is NO PSI testing being done ..this has been confirmed. I saw an article interviewing a former ball "boy" who stated he had never seen a ball rejected by the refs ...so apparently this PSI level rule is REAL important to the integrity of the game!
So you submit these balls before games for the last 2-years, then some bitter(and embarrassed) coach figures he will get them back by feeding this to the next team(Indy). All of a sudden, these balls that have been fine for 2-years are now not "legal." One problem, the refs never checked the balls ...so now what do you do? Nothing. You dont have a leg to stand on since the balls were approved. If the rule is that important, they would have a ref on the sidelines guarding the balls so there could be no tampering. But they don't. Why? Because they don't care! It's not important!
So for all those teams, players, and fans crying because Belichick is a cheater -stop wasting your time complaining and focus your energy on building a TEAM like he does so you can better compete. ....and maybe eventually beat him!
