Sports: Deflate-Gate

How would you explain the change then? I am not saying he masterminded, I am saying there seems to be a very hard to explain anomaly that happened after. This happened to the very same team that suddenly had deflated balls in NFC championship game. Laughing that off I think is wrong.

What needs to be explained? This isn't too difficult to figure out. QB's like balls a certain way based on feel. In fact, please show me ONE QB that actually puts a PSI test to the ball himself ...none of them do. Do you know why? Because the refs never check the balls -you submit the balls you like, the ref shows up, puts his uniform on, walks over to the balls, checks the laces, gives it a squeeze and a spin and throws it back in the pile and checks another one. There is NO PSI testing being done ..this has been confirmed. I saw an article interviewing a former ball "boy" who stated he had never seen a ball rejected by the refs ...so apparently this PSI level rule is REAL important to the integrity of the game!

So you submit these balls before games for the last 2-years, then some bitter(and embarrassed) coach figures he will get them back by feeding this to the next team(Indy). All of a sudden, these balls that have been fine for 2-years are now not "legal." One problem, the refs never checked the balls ...so now what do you do? Nothing. You dont have a leg to stand on since the balls were approved. If the rule is that important, they would have a ref on the sidelines guarding the balls so there could be no tampering. But they don't. Why? Because they don't care! It's not important!

So for all those teams, players, and fans crying because Belichick is a cheater -stop wasting your time complaining and focus your energy on building a TEAM like he does so you can better compete. ....and maybe eventually beat him!

:worship: :thumbsup2

But....but.....but.....he cheated and should be FIRED! Banned from the league! Dismantle the team and make them start over!

So are they gunna log the psi of the balls on Sunday? I do think it's unfortunate that if the patriots win the Super Bowl most non pats fans will probably be asking for an * . I don't really see how the nfl will be able to come to a clear conclusion what really happened with the balls.

Is there a grasping at straws emoji?
You realize that many QBs pushed for that change, right?
Let's just put it on Brady though. We all know he masterminded the whole change just so he could deflate balls on the sidelines.
I guess Tom Brady is an evil genius.

No, "everybody does it" isn't a reasonable defense. Not even saying Jeff Blake is right - but this sure sounds rampant in professional football. IF it happened.

So where's the proof that the Colts didn't overinflate their footballs? For that matter, where's the proof that the Colts' footballs weren't underinflated during the game but inflated to proper pressure before the after-game inspection?

The best thing about this "cheating scandal" is that everyone realizes that when Brady was using the illegal ball the Score was 17-7. After Indy and the Refs forced the Patriots hand and made them play with "legal" balls, the score was 28-0. Everyone understands that, correct?

Rumor has it that Coach Pagano has sworn to never speak to Coach Har-Bore again ...for that brilliant, potentially game-losing advice.

The NFL is going to announce and use hand signals to indicate eligible/ineligible players reporting. More of that "rule bending" getting tweaked by the NFL.

One can only assume he is referring to the ineligible receivers, which has been ruled a LEGAL play.
Though from what I heard most people thought Itl was pretty crappy for wr to claim he was ineligible at the last second possible. Again not breaking the rules biut pushing it so the rule will now need to re rewritten. You have to be fair. I am not sure if anyone claimed it was illegal

Actually, it does not need to be rewritten. It was the refs bad that they didn't handle it properly, and they admitted as such. The rules are the refs need to inform the other team of the receiver, and they didn't. Not on the Patriots, it's on the refs.

Sorry then but the other team had the right to be upset.
That was from the Ravens game and that is who Harbough was upset with, the refs, not the Pats. And sure they can be upset, but it's not the Pats fault, so don't be using that as an example of some sort of nefarious wrong doing on their part.

Next...

I don't see a problem with the Patriots' formations during the Ravens' game. It wasn't any different than stuff the Eagles did the previous year. There were several times their right tackle (Jane Johnson) was split out wide but still blocked.

The problem was that they were not finding out the WR was ineligible until right before the ball was hiked. So they had to keep a coverage guy on him.

Again, that's not the fault of the Patriots.

I apologized, about that. I am not saying it was illegal just saying that ravens had right to set their defense. I did not bring up the pla to begin with. Nor did I say that Tom Brady orchestrated this rule change with this in mind.
