Spoodles reviews????

We've been a few times lately for tapas and dessert, and always have a great meal. We'll usually split the flatbread, the dip platter, and the dessert sampler. Anything specific you want to know?

I'd love to know what's on the Spoodles Dessert Platter! I posted this question quite a while ago but didn't get any responses. :sad2:

There's a new one, and we haven't had it since it switched, so I can't tell you :(

Just looking for reviews of good meals. :hyper:

Since we're staying at the Swan we plan to try both breakfast and dinner there during our trip. I'll be celebrating my birthday during our trip and that just might be the place I choose. We're looking for a nice meal, but not quite as expensive as Flying Fish or Yachtsman Steakhouse. Those are on our short list for our 20th anniversary dinner - but that's 16 months from now. ::yes::

I hate to say it but our family has yet to have a good meal at Spoodles--and we have TRIED!!! I hope you do better than us if you do try it!

I am bumping this up, because I am curious too. We are trying to decide between ESPN Club, Big River Grille & Brewing Works, and Spoodles. I was starting to lean towards Spoodles, because of the mixed reviews of the other two. We were trying to find a casual atmosphere with decent food. We will have our two little boys with us, so we aren't looking for anything too fancy or expensive.

:earsboy: :earsgirl: pirate: pirate:

I would definitely do Spoodles. It's been consistently one of our favorite moderately priced restaurants at Disney. The service is usually very friendly and the food has never disappointed. There are nice touches - with the dips platter, they grill the pita bread that comes with it - yum! The decor is bright and airy.

I think we've been....5-6 times now, only once did entrees, the other times we've just stopped in for tapas. The sangria is very nice as well, with the tapas.

We always eat here for at least one breakfast meal and one dinner meal. I always enjoy the meals here.

We had the Chicken entree at the end of April and it was very good. We don't usually have children with us, but they do offer a childrens menu. Try Spoodles, I think you will enjoy it.

Thanks for the feedback...good and bad.

I like sangria, that sounds very promising. Depending on how strong it is we might not want to try a surrey ride after dinner!

Not that strong, for us, but we're in our 20s and I can drink around the WS :teeth:

We shared a pitcher and were feeling "mellow" after, just like we'd had one drink.

LOL - we could do that in our 20's too!!!! :drinking1 Now I have trouble staying awake after I drink.

Our last surrey ride was with friends, after a great dinner at Le Cellier and a beer along on the surrey. The hill heading toward the Boardwalk almost did us in. This time we'll have the kids with us. :)

I really enjoy spoodles for both breakfast and dinner!

Does anybody know what their breakfast hours are (roughly)? Do they close in the afternoon or serve lunch as well?

Thanks!

I believe Spoodles brkfst hrs are 730-11am
DS13 & I are planning brkfst here in Aug
theres a dinner menu posted on Debs site

We had an excellent meal at Spoodles in October. We were a group of 10 -- 4 adults, 6 kids -- and we sat a a big table right in front of the kitchen. The chef came over to our table and really paid a lot of attention to the kids. And the food was OUTSTANDING -- maybe our top meal of the trip (or maybe Flying Fish was #1).

I would say yes to the Sangria and NO to the surrey! You should know better if you have already done it once :rotfl:

Thanks for the positive comments everyone. I have PS's and have been considering canceling in favor of Crystal Palace even though I am not a buffet fan. I think I will keep the PS now that I know they have good Sangria.

We ate their last week using one of our MYW credits. The server encouraged us to add shrimp and scallop skewers. The meal was delicious and the service was top notch. We had never tried it before and were very impressed.

Gail,

We ate at Spoodles on April 26, 2005 for the first time because it was raining that night and we didn't want to wander far from the BWV.

We were wonderfully surprised. It was one of the best meals we had that trip! I had the NY Strip and DH had the Paella. The sangria was perfect for me. I ordered a glass and changed it immediately to a pitcher after one sip.

DH and I thought the NY Strip was better than the steak he had at Le Cellier.

The other meal we loved was Artist's Point.

So that you know what I am comparing Spoodles to, here are where we ate this trip:
ESPN (dinner), Crystal Palace (dinner), Spoodles, Chef Mickey's (bkfast), Le Cellier (dinner), Coral Reef (dinner), and Artist's Point (dinner)

I may rate Spoodles very slightly over AP because of the novelty (we've been to AP numerous times - it's our fav), because of the SANGRIA, because I really enjoyed the NY Strip, and because it was so close to our resort! Lol!

It was our first and only experience there and we will definitely eat there again our next trip. I sure hope we can replicate our experience.

does the sangria taste like wine or juice? i like sangria where you can tell that it's wine. i've been to places before that add juice - that is not to my liking.

We ate dinner at Spoodles on May 10th or 11th (I have a hard time remembering the date while on vacation). I would rate it as OK. We had the lamb skewers for an appetizer...they were very good, and there were some yummy olives on the plate too. I had the Italian Gnocchi, it was a bit heavy on the mushrooms, but the waiter informed me of this when I ordered. It was the first time I have ever had gnocchi, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it was pretty tasty. My husband had the Rigatoni Fiessolana which he said was pretty good. I had some rum/fruit juice drink which was yummy...the rum was very apparant.

Our waiter was very attentive. I think he explained every item on the menu to us before taking our drink order. :earseek: It took him a while, and it was kind of lost on us because he had such a strong accent (his name tag said he was from Morocco).

We were too full to try a dessert, which I was bummed about. I also would have loved to try the 4 cheese flatbread...it sounded so good!
