**spoilers*** Lost Season Five **spoilers**

"What lies beneath the statue?"

"ille qui nos omnes servabit" which means...."He who will save us all"

GOODNESS GRACIOUS!!!!!!!

Don't keep us in suspense!!!!! What language is it?? How do you know it's right??

And more importantly...Who will save us all??

And if that's the correct answer shouldn't the question be "WHO lies beneath the statue" unless whoever saves us isn't human of course.

ETA: Gods aren't human so maybe the God theory is correct.

Sorry, guys! I went to bed! I see you got your answer though. :)

That was one amazing show!

I wonder if the eye at the end means anything and if so, whose was it? I'm guessing if it does mean something, it's Jack's eye. Just as the show began with Jack's eye in the very first episode but of course, you never know with this show!

Oh and what did they mean by saying maybe the pilot can be a 'candidate'?? A candidate for what?

To replace Jacob? I remember when they showed us a silhouette of Jacob in the rocking chair in the cabin and it kind of looked like the pilot. It's the same time Jacob said "help me". :scratchin

I know crazy talk but you never know!

So all these years, both sides (the Others/Losties) were pawns in a war/battle between Jacob and that other guy. We're suppose to think it's over and the bad guy won. I don't think so.

Sorry I keep posting but this show was just awesome! I keep thinking about it and remembering more things.

Maybe Frank was a "leader" candidate? I think the "loophole" was that only a lleader could kill Jacob. Maybe Ilana thought Frank might be that leader?

How did you and the other people on here know it wasn't Locke? I had no clue!

I guess a couple of things. First when the real Locke went to Jacob's cabin he heard Jacob say "help me" and Locke always wanted to do what the island told him to. So whenever he said that he wanted to kill Jacob... I was thinking there's something wrong here! Then also thinking back to when Ben went to be judged by smokey in the temple- Locke disappears and Smokey appears and then Alex... As soon as Alex is gone, hey Locke's back! Plus, I didn't think that they would have an entire episode titled "Dead is Dead" for no reason.

You know what? I don't think it was Jacob's cabin at all - Jacob was living in the 4-toed statue. I think the cabin was where the guy who killed Jacob was being held, and the ash ring was what was keeping him inside. When they saw that the ash ring was broken, Ilana was worried about who/what had escaped.

"What lies beneath the statue?"

"ille qui nos omnes servabit" which means...."He who will save us all"

"He who will save us all" - well, Jacob was living beneath the statue. But now he's dead?

ok, I was one of the people that didn't realize Locke wasn't Locke until the end.

I'm assuming the "fake Locke" is the guy from the very beginning of the episode that was sitting w/Jacob.

HOWEVER, I'm thinking Ben knew this all along. Because in order for the "fake Locke" to have to use the REAL Locke's body......the real Locke would have to be dead. Ben must have known this and that's why he killed him a few episodes back. :confused3:confused3

I think Ilana was there to try to stop them from killing Jacob. Remember when Jacob went to see her in the hospital and said he'd need her help? I think she's "team Jacob".

What a show! Here are my thoughts:

Did anybody catch the name of the guy at the beginnign of show who was talking to Jacob? Since he said that he was going to find a loophole to be able to kill Jacob, I'm going to call him "Loophole Guy".

Well, now we know why they showed us that it was Locke who took Richard thru the jungle to when Locke was shot in the leg and Richard told Locke that he had to die. It wasn't Locke, but Loophole-Guy-Locke who needed Locke dead so that he could use Locke's body. I'm thinking that the loophole was that the true leader of the Hostiles had the ability to kill Jacob. So Loophole Guy took over Locke's body. When he found Richard again after 3 years, he asked Richard "I AM still your leader, aren't I?" and Richard said "absolutely".

Sad about Sayid and Juliet. But I don't really think either of their deaths was on a par with Charlie's death (like somebody had posted in a spoiler a while back). Yes, Juliet died very similarly to Charlie - she realized that while she somehow survived that fall down the hole that she was going to die anyway so why not get that bomb to detonate.

The most heart-wrenching part of that whole thing was Sawyer's grief. Such great acting on Josh Hollway's part.:thumbsup2

Did anyone notice that at the end, and in their scene for season 6, they did a 'fade to white' instead of a 'fade to black'? It was always a black screen showing the title LOST at the end, but now its white. Thats got to mean something.

Yes, I completely agree with you. Jacob needed her help to try to stop Loophole-Guy-Locke from killing him, but she was just a little too late. I believe she carried Locke's body as a way to convince Richard and the Hostiles that the "Locke" that was leading them to Jacob wasn't really Locke at all.

Black = bad/evil
White = good

I think Jacob was somehow behind getting the Oceanic 6 to return to the island. He knew if they returned and were able to change the past that Flight 815 wouldn't crash; therefore, Locke wouldn't be on the island and wouldn't be recognized as a "leader". No leader Locke means that Loophole-Guy wouldn't have Locke's body to inhabit in order to kill Jacob.

So now once again, I'm going to say that the Losties HAVE changed the past by detonating the bomb. The white screen means that they've changed things for the better, and in Season 6 the "good guys" will win! Of course, I still have no idea WHO the good guys are vs. the bad guys!;)

More thoughts: I really feel bad for Locke - people have been using him his entire life. We've got his dad using him to get a kidney. Ben used him for so many things. And now we find out that Loophole-Guy used him by telling him that he had to die in order to save his friends and the island, when Loophole-Guy only needed Locke's body in order to kill Jacob.

And like beattyfamily posted in her spoiler, Smokey/Alex wasn't really "smokey" - it had to have been Loophole-Guy. That's why Loophole-Guy-Locke disappeared and Alex appeared to tell Ben that he had to do everything Locke said. LGL (Loophole-Guy-Locke) then told Ben that he had to kill Jacob. I guess since the real Locke was really dead, leadership reverted back to the prior leader, which was Ben?

I can't wait to see how they're going to wrap everything up in just one more season - they've given us so many more questions!!

- who is Loophole-Guy? it's kind of obvious that he and Jacob are fighting for control of the island, but why?

- did the Losties really change things when they detonated the bomb, or was it like Miles said - by doing so, were they the ones who caused the incident?

- who is Ilana really? Why was she in a hospital with her face all bandaged? Could it be that she's some kind of Egyptian goddess brought back to life to help Jacob? I don't know anything about mythology.

I didn't even think of that?!?!?! But then why did Ben kill Locke a few episodes ago?
I was thinking he's working w/fake-Locke :confused3

We don't know that either Sayid or Juliet has died! We don't know if Jacob is dead either.

The ONLY person that we KNOW is dead is Locke. You know Lost is, the others may not be dead.

Sayid can recover from a bullet wound. Ppl do all the time and he was shot in earlier episodes when trying to save Hurley at the hotel.

If Jacob is some sort of God (or obviously special - he isn't seen by everyone, can go wherever he wants, turned Richard the way he is etc) then maybe stabbing and fire doesn't kill him.

Juliet didn't die falling down that huge hole, and we don't know what happened with the bomb. What ppl said earlier about white meaning good and the fade to white from the bomb, maybe it was just a light like the time travel...

You can't just assume with Lost. You aren't dead until you are shown dead. - and then you aren't always even dead then (christian)

I was shocked there was a fake Locke. I guess I shouldn't have been fake Locke seemed to be really violent.

If the bomb exploding has changed the future, then we don't even know that Charlie is dead in the future. Because this has now all happened before Charlie even died.

I agree...we didn't see Sayid or Juliet actually die, and depending on where they all go in time/place, they could be alive.

Also though...I think Christian IS dead too....just like Locke. I think the bad guy from the beginning (loophole guy) actually was Christian, just like he was Locke.

So Locke was the death I guess. I really liked him, sad. I think at this point they're all dead in 1977 since the bomb did go off so who knows what will happen next year. I really like Juliet & Sawyer together and their scenes tonight were heartbreaking, I hope they end up together.

Not only we do we not know Juliet and Sayid's fate we also don't really know WHAT happened with the bomb. Did it explode? Was it a time jump light? What really happened? We don't know.

I do think Christian and Loophole Locke were both Loophole Guy. I also think Loophole guy can manipulate smokey. He has powers like Jacob. I'm still not sure yet which is good and which is evil.

Jacob clearly has been manipulating things for years. He brings people to the island but I need to rewatch the beginning because I didn't quite get why. Loophole guy says it always ended the same. I guess this time it didn't. What is their game?

I have a question.

Has the official cast list been released for season six? If the past has changed, then all the dead characters, (Boone, Shannon, Charlie, etc,) may or may not be dead. So I was wondering if anyone knew the official cast list for next season and if anyone's been readded to it.

I've heard that Emile de Ravin is going to be a regular again next year. I'm very interested to know what happened to her.
