Wow, Ilana and the gang are NOT working for Widmore! SO WHO ARE THEY? :confused3

.
I don't know. Could they be working for Ben? Or is there a third "interested" party? Perhaps Eloise?

If they were working for Ben, why would he have shot Cesear? Although, I wouldn't put it past him to do something like that to make it appear he wasn't 'with' them.

Hmmmmmm.....interesting idea if Eloise has her own agenda. And with Richard moving all around (not chained to the island), the others could have their own plan of action in the present day.

Are you saying that because of the guy in the van saying "do you know what lies beneath the 4 toed statue" to Miles??

I thought there were only two sides; Ben and Witmore. I guess there could be a third, 'good' side.

I also found it interesting what Miles could read about that dead guy with Nadia. About what photos and papers he was bringing to Witmore. That made us believe maybe he was the one who staged the fake airplane under the water?? And maybe Sayid killed that guy for Ben???

Oh, I love this show!!!!!!

Ooh, I'll bet you're right that the dead guy Naomi showed Miles was killed by Sayid. Everything and everybody on this show is connected somehow.

How about this for a "third" side in the struggle for the island: Dharma. Sure Ben and the Hostiles/Others wiped out the Dharma Initiative on the island. But Dharma had to have people on the outside for food drops, recruiting new workers to send in on the submarine, etc. So the outside Dharma folks lost communication with the island Dharma after the purge; the island was prob. also moved after the purge and the outside Dharma folks have been looking for the island ever since, just like Widmore's been looking for it. Maybe Ilana and her gang and the shiny metal crate are Dharma? What do you think?

Hurley writing "The Empire Strikes Back"! I loved that! I knew there had to be something about Star Wars in this episode. I mean it's 1977 and the episode was "Some Like It Hoth".

I"m glad they showed some of Miles backstory. The whole ending with Daniel leaves me with more questions, though. Did Daniel go back to the "real" world on the sub and then come back? Or is this time-traveling Daniel?

What will I do when this show finally ends? :faint:

I thought last night's episode was kind of bleh. Yes, it was nice to get more of Miles' backstory, and kind of neat with Hurley writing The Empire Strikes Back. (Did I hear correctly: Hurley said he didn't like the Ewoks?? What's up with that? Ewoks are so cute!)

I also don't think Miles' dad (Dr. Chang) abandoned Miles and his mom. I think he sent them off the island before "the incident" so they wouldn't be hurt/killed. That dead guy that Dr. Chang had Miles deliver to Horace was working around something with such powerful magnetism that it sucked his fillings out of his teeth and through his brain. I'm sure Dr. Chang is smart enough to know that they were getting into some serious stuff and he didn't want his wife and son injured.

Kind of neat that Miles got to see himself as a baby.

The whole ending with Daniel leaves me with more questions, though. Did Daniel go back to the "real" world on the sub and then come back? Or is this time-traveling Daniel?

Remember when Sawyer, Juliet et al first showed up in Dharma-ville after saving Amy from being shot and Horace wanted them to get on the next sub back to the mainland? Maybe Daniel got on that sub, went back to Oxford and found his mother and worked with her to try to figure out how to get them back to 2007 where they belonged? Now he's back on the sub, ready to help them.

This would fit my theory that by the time young Ben is healed by the Hostiles and rejoins Dharma, the Losties have been transported back to the present time and young Ben (having lost some of his memory) doesn't remember them.

Re: Dharma as a third player theory. Remember Dharma was still dropping supplies on the island in season one. Maybe they knew about the purge, but were still supplying Desmond and his predecessors with supplies so they could keep pushing the button. (I had thought perhaps Ben/Ethan were in contact and leading them to believe everything was still hunky-dory, but that seems a bit far fetched, as they wouldn't have been getting any scientific reports since the purge.)

"WHAT'S TO COME"

We have to wait two weeks for a new episode. Argh!

Howevah, they are going to make it up to us "The Variable," about which we are hearing very good things. Look for Mrs. Hawking explain stuff like her relationship with Charles Widmore and for Daniel to explain some of the mysteries of the Island (please review chapters 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42 in your psychics physics textbook in preparation).
And oh yeah, the major death is bearing down on us. Next week, some people we used to trust implicitly make some (more) very bad decisions and in the end, it's curtains for someone we love. Darn you, Lost! Darn you to heck!"

It's quotes like these that make me believe that it's going to be Sawyer. I'm praying it's not but, it just seems that it's heading that way. :sad1::sad1:

I hate to say it but that's what I'm thinking too....I would only be devastated by Sawyer, Kate, Jack or Hurley. I would be sad/bummed with Sayid, Juliet, Sun, Jin and even Ben but not devastated.....

We all have our favorites. That being said, I'd give up Kate in a second. ;)

Sayid was on the island when all this was happening. He could not have killed him.

I hope the major character that dies is either Jack or Kate. I used to like them but they're both annoyng me this season.

I have a feeling the person making bad decisions is Kate. She's already told 2 people about the OC6 lying (Cassidy and Claire's mom). She's just about ready to slip and say the wrong thing to Roger - he already suspects she's involved in young Ben's disappearance, and he's not exactly the brightest bulb around.

Oh, you are right! When Naomi is recruiting Miles, Sayid is still on the island. Oh well, I guess he's not the one that killed the dead guy in the restaurant but I'll bet it was still someone working for Ben!

I think you mean Naomi.;) (Way too many people to keep track of, and then you have to throw in time travel and young Ben/old Ben, etc.....)
