I didn't notice that Desmond had been shot. I just assumed the bullet hit some cans in the bag and the force knocked Desmond down. I have to look at the tape again.

I'm surprised noone has mentioned the new "survivors"!! Are the new crash people old inhabitants of the island??

When the female cracked Lapiduss with the gun and asked him what laid at the base of the statue my mind raced all the way back to season 1 and for the life of me I can't remember the name of that statue on the coast!

Anyone else pick up on that?? What's your thoughts?

that is what i was thinking. i didn't notice any blood on him, either.

Desmond was hit with the shot. If you notice when he's beating on Ben he only uses his left arm. The tell Desmond I'm sorry line was wierd. Maybe he's sorry for shooting him?

Maybe he was apologizing for Penny (& Charlie) being dragged unknowingly into the struggle with Widmore? Another example of his not wanting to hurt a child?
Ben not knowing certain things and looking confused was classic.

Ben certainly appeared off his usual game this episode! I love how the dynamic with Locke is beginning to reverse.

There is certainly something fishy about those new survivors. My boyfriend thinks they may be working for Widmore (he thinks everyone is at one point or another ) But I thought the same thing you did...what if they were coming back like Charlotte did?

I think they're definitely working for Widmore, how else would they be able to smuggle so many guns on the plane? If that is true, that raises another question, how was Widmore able to get his people and have Alana capture Sayid in such a short time. I wonder how close he is to Eloise.

Also, knowing that Ben was in LA, why did he tell Desmond he could find Eloise there? He knew Ben wanted to kill his daughter, was he willing to sacrifice her?

I think the whole thing about the 4-toed statue was a code for a little group working for Widmore. There's an answer she was looking for that he didn't give. Interesting how little we are all talking about this episode compared to past weeks.

Loved the picture of Anubis and Smokey. Super cool.

So how long do you think Ben will listen to Alex (and John)?

Also, knowing that Ben was in LA, why did he tell Desmond he could find Eloise there? He knew Ben wanted to kill his daughter, was he willing to sacrifice her?

Maybe he doesn't know that Eloise has anything to do with Ben.

I missed the episode last night, forgot to set the DVR! Hopefully it will be on next Weds.

Uh oh.....I just listened to the latest Lost podcast. They were talking about Desmond holding the groceries and being shot by Ben. One of the writers said that he's "worried" about Desmond's condition. Wonder what he meant? Could Desmond really have been hurt worse than we think?

They also talked about time travel again, and said that Losties themselves will be wondering and exploring whether their actions can really change the past or if, like Charlie's death, their actions might only be a little detour to the same ending.

Sounds interesting! My thoughts:

Juliet and Sawyer becoming prisoners is kind of "DUH!" Sawyer will be accused of letting Sayid out of prison, and Juliet for sending young Ben to the Hostiles for healing. As for 3 of them getting a "ticket" on the sub, notice it doesn't say that they actually get ON the sub and leave. Where would they go in 1977 anyway??

So Locke, Ben and Sun will meet up with Richard and the Others in 2007. It's going to kill Ben to see Locke take "his" place as leader of the Others. Betcha it won't be long until Ben ignores Smokey/Alex and starts scheming to get rid of Locke instead of following Locke.

Wonder what happens with Ilana and her gang and their silver crate of stuff? Does Richard know who Ilana is working for? Will Richard be able to help Sun reunite with Jin?

And your spoilers don't say anything about who's in the body bag we saw in the previews!

But I do not think they are about tonight.

Tonight is mostly about Miles.

I can't wait to see the episode, "The Variable". It will show Daniel again and explain how/why he knows so much about the island.

One of the questions answered tonight will be why Miles was blackmailing Ben for $3.2 million. In the April 29 episode we will find out just how well Faraday knows the island when he finally reappears.

As far as Dr. Marvin Candle he is going to be appearing in the remaining episodes of season 5 and we will learn that he is one of Dharma's leaders but not the only one. They will reveal what was going on at the various Dharma stations and we will get to see what the Dr.'s role in the incident was. It has something to do with the consiquinces of not pushing the button every 108 minutes. It might also explain why the good Dr. apparently has a prosthetic arm.

Read some of the things on the No Spoiler thread and thought I would follow up here with some spoiler stuff. According to the spoiler sites the actor Mark Pelligrino is in fact going to play Jacob in Lost. He will appear in the final episodes this year and will be shown in flashbacks scenes at Sun and Jin's wedding, talking to John Lock after he was pushed from the window that caused his injury and potentially interacting with other characters past selfs. Also as I commented in the last post, tonight is a Miles centric episode where we get some answers on who Miles is and why he was on the frieghter with Daniel, Charlotte, Naomi, and Lapidus. He is delivering a dead body to Dr. Marvin Candles and talks to the dead to find out what happened.

Better not be! Maybe he's worried about Desmond's mental condition, meaning he's coming back to the island to find Ben.

Loved Hurley's trying to help write Star Wars story and his comparisons between Miles' situation with his dad and Darth Vader/Luke!

Loved Miles seeing his dad holding him and "Baby Miles" smiling. Very touching!

It was a pretty good episode. I enjoyed learning more about Miles and his interaction with his dad and how he saw him with himself as a baby.

I can't wait for the next episode though with Daniel being back!! Just wish we didn't have to wait 2 weeks.
