SPOILER! POTC 3 End scene

Well.....I thought that the FIRST time they showed him on the FD, and THEN, MY GOSH, when he CAME BACK for the 2nd time, I had to lean over and tell my friend how good he looked.

I don't think I've seen him look THAT good in any of the Pirates movies (or in real life for that matter)!

I thought it was just me :rotfl: . I think he is cute, but never thought OMG... I left the movie thinking OMG he is HOT! Not sure what it was but whatever it was, it worked well for him pirate:

I agree I never thought OB was great looking; however, that last part changed that!

I thought that the boy with Elizabeth is Will/Elizabeth's son...I hope there will be a Part 4.:wizard:

I think he got "Hollywood-ized" or something--those two, both OB and KK, looked fabulous in the last two scenes.

I think both of their faces were just amazing. Orlando's hair looked darker (what you could see of it peeking out from under his bandana), he looked tanner, and his face just looked so chiseled! He really looked fantastic--very muscular--more weight in his face--just everything--they really had him looking like a poster boy!

And, I'm telling you--I'm not gay or anything--but I think that Elizabeth looked fantastic too! They had her all tanned up too, her face looked like that perfect model/chiseled face, and her make-up was flawless.

They both were looking EXTREMELY good at the end....and yes, when they showed OB coming back to meet her on the beach 10 years later--he was one HOT PIRATE!

I may have to change my opinion of him now! :rotfl:

I wanted to bump this because people are still asking about the end scene and this thread was getting lost on page 2!

I also wanted to add that I think the point of the scene was to show that, unlike Calypso, Elizabeth showed up for that day and because of that, unlike Davey Jones, Will will now continue his job of transporting the dead to the other side. pirate:

Actually Davy Jones was supposed to continue to do that job when Calypso didn't wait for him, he just got angry when she wasn't there and he turned bad and quit doing it. I've read that since Elizabeth waited for Will that his debt as Captain of the Dutchman was paid and he would be free to be with her. The writers have apparently been quoted as saying this is true.......

ETA: Oh, and I agree 100% about Will - he was incredibly hot at the end of that movie!

I was already infatuated with Orlando Bloom, but now... I think it might be full-blown LOVE. At the end of the movie, my friend and I were totally slack-jawed at how AMAZING he looked. I'm pretty sure the only words I was able to utter were, "Uh. Muh. Gawww." ;)

First - I love the idea that since she came back in 10 years that he would be free...that's a great ending, but how would that make a POTC4? It's just a good ending? How will that lead them back to Jack? And Jack has GOT to be a part of this somehow (a piece of me wanted Elizabeth to end up with him...maybe she still wil...)

Second - I think they both looked that good at the end b/c they FINALLY got that wedding night that they were robbed of in POTC2! HA HA HA HA!!! :rotfl:

I will fourth the idea that OB was never one of those OMG type of guys for me, but at the end - WOW!! I definately noticed!! The Flying Dutchman has been good to him :thumbsup2

I've seen interviews with both OB and KK and they have said that they are pretty much done with the pirate movies. I think that IF they decide to go on with a fourth sometime in the near future, it will be following Jack's story and they will leave Will and Elizabeth's as it ended in this one. pirate:

From Wikipedia:

After the credits, in a scene captioned "Ten Years Later," a young boy approximately ten years of age is seen singing "A Pirates Life for Me" as Elizabeth walks behind him. It is implied that this is the child of Will and Elizabeth. The sun sets followed by a green flash and Will, on the mast of The Dutchman, sails towards the shore. According to the film's writers, the curse of The Dutchman is broken if, after the ten years, the captain's lover reamains faithful. The final post-credit scene suggests that Will can now return to land, as Elizabeth has remained faithful. The green flash, which symbolises a soul returning from the dead, supports this theory. Apparently, a scene of dialogue between Tia Dalma/Calypso and Davy Jones, which explained this, was cut from the film, leading to confusion about the ending.

So sad, but I think I can live with that. Isn't she the Pirate King, though? She'll have to leave a successor or the Pirate Lords will be back at square 1 if they have a POTC4. Cameos maybe? :confused3

Thanks ByTheBlood. That makes sense. That makes it an even happier ending! pirate:

I agree! That would make a GREAT ending! I hope it's right too. If anyone has the transcript of the writers saying that I'd love to see it (just for my own PEACE OF MIND)!

Thank you so much for this information. The ending has been bothering me since we saw the movie on Friday (and we stayed for the final scene). This makes alot of sense.

I really hope that what the OP said about the ending is true. That was the only thing I didn't like about the movie. I hated to think they would go through all that and not be together.

So, does anyone know the answer to my flash of green light questions?
*********
If the green light means dead souls coming back to life (we KNOW it went off when the Black Pearl turned RIGHT SIDE UP again [hence the pirates saying , "We're back!"], did the green light flash when they flipped UNDER the water and did it flash when Will left Elizabeth on the beach after their "honeymoon?"

If it only flashed when the B.P. turned right-side up again, then we can safely assume Will is back from the dead, but if it also flashed when he left the island and when the B.P. went under water, then I would think the spell wouldn't be broken.

Does that make sense? What does everyone else think?

It did NOT flash when the BP first went under. That was the scene when they fell over the water fall, the screen turned black and audio from the ride played. They next scene was Jack on the boat. I'm not positive, but I think the green light DID flash after Will left her on the beach.pirate:

EDIT: Doesn't really make a difference but I just realized it's not the Black Pearl that goes over the waterfall, it's one of Sao Feng's ships.

Hey Nikki!

I too think the green light flashed when the sun went down when Will first left Elizabeth on the island--like you, I'm not 100% positive, but I THINK it did....

...and I wasn't sure about the Black Pearl....the part I was referring to wasn't the waterfall, but when the pirates intentionally rocked the Black Pearl upside down so it could turn right side up and they'd be back from the dead.

I thought the green light flashing indicated passing from one side to another--in EITHER direction, not just coming back from the dead.

I am really hoping it only flashes when people COME BACK from the dead so the curse would be off Will!

Hmm...I don't remember! I think the green light flashed only when the water rushed over them and they were back. I don't remember it flashes when they first flipped over. But if that's true then why did it flash when Will left Elizabeth on the beach? Did we just imagine that? pirate:

Maybe!

Is anybody on this thread going back for a 2nd time any time soon?

Inquiring minds need to know....

...is Will destined to a life WITHOUT Elizabeth or is the SPELL BROKEN? popcorn::

I've come to realize that most new movies have scenes after the credits, and it's common knowledge to know to stay, now. ;)
