In all this pirate talk, I can tell a lot of people missed the scene after the credits. I PMed a few people but here it is for those who want to know.

In the last seen after the credits, you see Elizabeth with a boy (about 10 years old ;) )and words on the bottom of the screen that read "ten years later." There is no talking, just excited looks on their faces as they walk, hand in hand, to the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean and the boy is singing "Yo Ho Yo Ho." Then you see the flash of green light and Will coming in on the Flying Dutchman. They end it there, without showing them meeting up again. I guess they wanted to leave that up to our imaginations but it was very touching and beautifully done, IMO.

OMG...I left before that happened. Were you happy with the movie? I was a little disapointed and was wondering if they are going to do any more on the fountian of youth. What did you think??:confused3

When the map of the Fountain of Youth was shown, I leaned over to my friend and whispered, "Look, they're going to Florida! You know what that means!"

I thought the "ten years later" scene was very touching, except that Will and Elizabeth hadn't aged one minute, let alone ten years. :rolleyes1

I love the fact that we "Florida", got another attention, heheheh. The ten years after was pretty kool and yes, they didn't age one bit, heheheh. Maybe I can understand Will but Elizabeth should have aged at least. Maybe she did and she knew how to maintain herself pretty good, heheheh.

Think about it this way...at the end of the movie Jack was off to find the fountain of youth...maybe he found it with Elizabeth's help and she has been drinking from it for the past ten years...that would explain her youthfulness when we see her "ten years later"...hmmm

My guess is that Kiera Knightley simply looks good at any age:love: :thumbsup2 (maybe add a pound or two!)

veeeerrrry interesting! That would make a good part 4! pirate:

I'm glad I found out what the last scene was, my DM wanted to leave - she didn't want to wait until the end of the credits, and after last year's unimpressive dog scene I can't really blame her. But I'm glad to know what happened, and will be sure to see it when I get a chance, which may not be until the DVD comes out.

I am such a sucker for spoilers.
I am going to the movie tonight...crap and I find that I can't stop reading spoilers...please help. Doesn't make me any less excited though.;) ;)

I wanted to bump this because people are still asking about the end scene and this thread was getting lost on page 2!

I also wanted to add that I think the point of the scene was to show that, unlike Calypso, Elizabeth showed up for that day and because of that, unlike Davey Jones, Will will now continue his job of transporting the dead to the other side. pirate:

If anyone has been to the Fountain of Youth in St. Augustine they can tell you that Elizabeth wouldn't be drinking that water for 10 years. It is awful, full of sulfur. Good thing they only give you a very small taste.

Squiggle, lol. We noticed on the map they showed though it had the Fountain of Youth as being in the very southern end of FL which it is not. =o)

Did anyone notice the young boy at the end with Elizabeth was the same boy singing in the opening scene who was hung?? :confused3

No it was not. The singing boy is played by Bredyn Bell and the young Will Turner is played by Dominic Scott Kay.pirate:

Now see, I thought the child with Elizabeth was a little girl. :confused3

Either way, Elizabeth & Will hadn't changed in 10 years. I did think Will looked reallllllllly good at the end as a pirate! :)

OMG, ME TOO! pirate:

I thought the child with Elizabeth was a girl too. But we got out of the movie at 3am so I was thinking I was just a little fuzzy at that point.

To me it made sense Will hadn't aged. He is now the captain of the Flying Dutchman and he's immortal. Elizabeth, maybe because she's Calypso ?:confused3

Anyway, it was a great movie. We really enjoyed it. Can't wait to see it again.

Elizabeth isn't Calypso. The black witch was Calypso.

I wasn't sure if the child was a boy or girl. The resemblence to the child in the beginning was eerie.....

Well.....I thought that the FIRST time they showed him on the FD, and THEN, MY GOSH, when he CAME BACK for the 2nd time, I had to lean over and tell my friend how good he looked.

I don't think I've seen him look THAT good in any of the Pirates movies (or in real life for that matter)!

.....and for what it's worth--Elizabeth was beautiful in both end scenes! Just breathtaking.....

If only we could ALL live in "movie land!"

....P.S. I DID NOT notice the FOY was in Florida, but I heard my husband say it to the person sitting next to him. "It's in FL. They're going to FL!"

I loved the Disney comment above! Yes, if they are going to the FOY, they MUST be heading to Disney! Yippee!
