Our trip in in December and we have a split stay 4-nights at BWV and 4-nights at VWL. How exactly does transferring resorts work? Can we have Disney transfer our luggage or do have to schlepp our bags ourselves?

What do we do with the food?

Thanks for any advice or insight you can offer.

Bell services will transfer all your bags, plus they will refrigerate your food. When we split-stay, we pack perishables separately in a plastic bag which is immediately refrigerated. It's really very easy and convenient......kinda' "hakuna matata"! :teeth:

If bell services comes to pick up your bags for the move, how (or did you) tip them? Did you tip at the DVC you were leaving from or going too?

I tip at both...but then again too I try not to bring too much. I learned the hard way my first move, not to get too much food...we were really loaded up. But I found it way easier to buy what we wanted at the the Villas, than go to the grocery store and lug everything room to room(although it wasn't me who did the actual lugging). We have been told when our bags will arive at the other hotel, and so I usually pack a bag and leave it in a locker at the morning park we go to. I think next time I am going to try taking a cab over and checking in early, and leaving bag with bell services.

We, too, tip at both ends. Plus, since we usually stay in studios, we don't have much more than the equivalent of two grocery bags (one for perishables, the other for staples like breads, cereals, snacks, etc.). I don't know what the experience has been for those moving to/from full-kitchen accomodations. IMO, I'd imagine it would be smooth, too. :goodvibes After all, it's still DISNEY! :cheer2:

Good to know that I won't have to schlepp luggage from one resort to another.
