What has been your experience? How long did you stay at each resort? Was it a hassle? Would love to know the pro's and con's.

My DD & I have done it many times and absolutely love resort hopping! The pros are you get to try out more than 1 resort, theme, pool, etc..., and we can afford to try a deluxe for a few nights if we can't afford a deluxe for the whole time. We love the opportunity to stay at 2 or 3 of our favorite resorts during the same trip. We like to do an MK & an Epcot resort, as well as change themes totally, like going from WL to BC, or POR to GF. It's like 2 separate vacations. The only cons are checking in and waiting for a room to be ready. We usually drop our bags off early at the bell stand & go to a park for the morning. Then around 1pm, we catch a bus to our new resort & check in. This year I'm packing our bathing suits in our backpack so we can swim if our new room isn't ready or our luggage hasn't arrived. We love it!

For short stays (1 week) I wouldn't do it. But for our 2 week vacations I prefer to. We like going to the different areas (mk vs. epcot). No hassel with it. You get to have different pools, etc... & after the 1st week we found ourselves picking things we disliked at the resort. If we are only there for a short time, it doesn't matter if your not got a particular view, or locations etc... but when you move its like a new vacation. Also it makes you stay a little neater or organized. We like to do wash at 1/2 way point and start over with move, so your stuff is all clean, and you pack easier, for the move and for home. mky

In December we did two nights at AKL and 6 nights at GF. If I resort hop again, I will split the stay evenly...like 4 nights at each. Moving wasn't a hassle at all, though. The staff at AKL made it quite easy and they were very efficient. I think splitting your stay is a great way to experience two Disney resorts in one trip!

We are trying this out in July. 5 nights at BWV, 2 at the Poly, and 2 at VWL (we are saving our DVC points by not staying Fri/Sat when it costs more--so we have more for a cruise in 2003). I hope it all works out. I am most worried about waiting all day for suitcases to catch up with us if the resort transfers them. Can anyone tell me what the time frame is?

That is a really good idea (wash @ 1/2 point) We will be staying at CBR 7/26-7/31 and then to WL 7/31-8/4. With ALL clean clothes, it will definitely be easier to re-pack (besides, we have 2 rooms so my 2 older DS's can do their OWN packing since they will have their own dresser!!!)
