Splitting up contracts

I have never seen this topic addressed on the boards. If someone has say a 400 point contract is it possible for that to be split into two 200 point contracts by paying a fee or something to Disney? I think I already know the answer but thought I would ask. TIA

No, the contract would have to be sold or deeded as is.

This is why it is high recommended to split contracts at purchase because once the deed is filed there is no way to partially sell.

If you were buying a 200 point resale would you be able to split it into 2-100 point contracts? I know with Disney you can purchase almost any amount of points if a current member. Just wondering if I'm better off purchasing a 200 point resale and spliting it in order to will it to our kids or if I would have to go direct from Disney.

Correct. Now if Disney buys that same contract thru Rofr they can split it up and resell it.

This is why we bought 160 and 110 at AKL and are adding another 50 points to leave each kid 160 points one day. This solves any future sibling issues.
