My daughters will be 4 and 5 when we cruise and my 4 year old does not like to be apart from my 5 yr old. Will they let them stay together?? If not, I will put off my trip until they can both be in the club together because I want some alone time with my husband. This is a serious problem to me that I did not know about when I booked my cruise. Any advise would be helpful to me. Thanks

I know this sounds bad - I want family time too. But, this is our anniversary also

There are times when the 3-4's will do the same thing as the 5-7's (usually the general play sessions). BUt most of the time they are separate groups, and may not be in the room at the same time (the groups do "field trips" occasionally independent of each other). If your 4 is almost 5 (within a month) they will most likely put them together. If not, the counselors can still maybe make the decision to put the 4 in with the older depending on the maturity of the 4 year old. But in general, no, the 4 will be in with the 3-4's and not your daughter. There is no way to be sure though until you board and visit the Oceaneers Club.

You can drop down the 5 YO into the 3 - 4 group, and they would be together that way. My friend did that with no success. The 5 YO was bored with the little ones, calling all their games, babyish. Since the 5 YO was unhappy, the 3 YO was unhappy also and they didn't stay in the clubs. Now, I don't know your child and he/she might be fine in the lower age group. That would be your only option, unless you wait until they are in the same age group.

My DS was just 5 yo when we went & I had him stay with the 3-4 yos to help his sister when/if she went to the club. He LOVED it!!! He is in the 4 yo PS class since his Bday is 11/14 so maybe that helps him being with 4 yos in school.

I am going to attempt to put my 5 yr old DD in the 3-4 group so she can be with her friend and neighbor who is only 4. I think she will be fine. And when I look at the scheduled activites, I think she will enjoy the 3-4 ones better than the 5-7. I could be wrong about that. We'll see. :hyper:

You can drop the 5 year old down to the 3/4 group. However, this is a "one time" decision...she can't bounce back and forth between the groups.

The only way you can put a 4 year old in the 5-7 group is if she is less than 30 days away from her 5th birthday AND has permission of the counsellors.

My suggestion would be to start them in their own groups (for the welcome party and some of the initial stuff, they are together in the club) and see how it goes. Once they are both comfortable, they should be happy in their separate activities.

Just talk to the counsellors when you register. It's really your decision.
