It was supposed to open today. Just wondering if it did and if anyone has tried it? I'm trying to find the cost...I think I read somewhere it is not per game but per lane. Looking for cost, how many people, shoe rental, etc.

Thank you!

I read it was $ 20 per person for 1 1/2 hrs. I am waiting to here all about it also and see some pics.popcorn::

Im excited to try it out, we might go this weeknd.

We have something similar here called Kings which is a big bowling alley with food, drinks etc. I just think Splitsville is going to be the same but on a larger scale.

Taken from the above noted link.

Operating hours and Pricing

10:30am-5pm: $15/person for 1 1/2 hours of bowling (includes shoe rental)
5:00pm-10:30pm: $20/person for 1 1/2 hours of bowling (includes shoe rental)
10:30pm-2:00am: $15/person for 1 1/2 hours of bowling (includes shoe rental)

After 10:30pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays the second floor will be for guests ages 21+.

I think I already know the answer but can anyone confirm if splitsville accepts the Disney gift card?

I would say that they don't accept Disney gift cards or Disney visa reward dollars, as it is a chain not owned by Disney.

I am really struggling hard to see what the appeal of Splitsville is beyond a rainy day activity (although I am glad to see an empty building filled)? I just feel like I must be missing something :goodvibes

Just remember that DTD is not strictly for WDW guests - it is open to the public as an entertainment complex so it makes sense that they open.

Besides, our flight in January arrives at MCO at 3:40 and by the time ME gets us to our resort and we get checked in, DTD is realistically the only option for us and its always nice to have things to do besides eating and shopping......

I don't understand your "struggle."

I don't see why anyone stays at the GF, but I don't really "struggle" over it.

I don't like Hoop De Doo, but, I'm not going to tell someone that likes it that's it's really a 'struggle' to understand what they might like about it.

Now, I guess I don't understand.

Jeesh, cranky much :rolleyes2

If you must know, I am simply "struggling" to figure out what the appeal for this venue will be long term. I can't imagine many people going to Disney World and wanting to bowl. I can see it as being a great rainy day activity and something extra for the locals, but will that be enough to sustain it long term :confused3

I guess I am "struggling" to understand the business model behind it. I am sure it will be a nice place, but I still don't quite understand what someone would get out of the experience to pay that kind of premium to do it? I can comprehend why people may or may not perceive value out of the Grand Floridian versus an Allstar or Victoria and Alberts vs a Rainforest Cafe (not that I may necessarily agree with them but I can understand why they might feel one way or another) but I guess I just don't know enough about Splitsville to understand what a "premium" bowling alley is. KWIM?

Sorry, but I can bowl at home. No way I'm spending hard-earned vacation time in a bowling alley, Disney or not. Wonder if it comes complete with sweaty guys eating nachos off of their chests. :crazy2:

Will Splittsville be a good place to watch the BCS National Championship game? This will be the 2nd time we will be at WDW while Bama plays for the National Championship.

The ESPN club was very crowded, and the seats were very hard to sit in for hours.

The thought of bowling and watching the game sounds much better.

Thank you for the pricing info!

Sounds fun and was thinking of trying it our arrival night, but I'm not going to spend $80 on bowling while at Disney. I don't think my two kiddos (ages 5 and 3) could even make it 1 1/2 hours bowling. The both love bowling but we're lucky to get through an entire game!

It appeals to me.... but then again I am local so we don't count. :thumbsup2

It should do very well long term. Again, its a public entertainment complex and not just for resort guests and a bowling alley should fit in well with the restuarants/bars, movie theater, cigar bar, etc there.

Upscale bowling alleys are actually becoming quite popular. We have one here in Charlotte - Strike City at the EpiCentre entertainment complex and it is doing very well.

We, on the other hand, are interested. We arrive late in January and plan on spending the late afternoon/evening at DTD and the bowling alley is one option that appeals to us - only so many restaurants and shops you can visit. Splitsville is definitely no Crystal Lanes (I was born and grew up in Corning!) but I think it will hold its own.

I think it looks like a great place! Definitely would keep it as an option when my kids are a little older especially during the hot summer months!
