Can two adults split a table service meal? If we each get appi's, then split the main meal? For example, the meatloaf at Big River Grille is HUGE and enough for me and DH to split...does Disney do this or do they not allow it or charge a fee? Thanks!!!!!!princess:

My husband and I do it for every meal at the World -- we split an appetizer, we split a salad, we split a dinner and we split a dessert. Never had we had a problem ordering this way. Many times the restaurant even splits our dinner entree in back and presents it beautifully though that does depend on the restaurant. Obviously you can't do this at buffets, character meals or at V&A's. During our trip in May some of the places we split were Artist Point (dinner), Jiko (dinner), Plaza at MK (lunch), Le Celler (lunch), and Brown Derby(dinner). We always have a wonderful time, we always great great service and most of all it's plenty of food. I think's a fun way to try more food -- if we didn't split we wouldn't get an appetizer and a salad and just get one or the other. Also we'd probably skip dessert because we were full. All in all it's the way the eat in the world! We're going back in September (not using free dining) and we'll definately be the couple sitting next to you splitting our meals and loving it. Have a magical day.

Thanks for that....we are not doing the dining plan as well and figure this is a good way to save and enjoy some good food.....the meals are so big that I end of leaving 1/2 on my plate so it is a plus if we can share, save on $$ and not waste! princess: Thank you for your response!:cutie:

Shula's at the Dolphin (neither one owned by Disney) charges a $10 fee for split plates. That is the only charge I know of on Disney property.

All you have to do is say "we are sharing the meat loaf" and that's it.

A do always warn people who want to split meals because the portions are big. There are many times when you ask for the meal to be split but you still get a full serving of the side dish. Or even worse. I asked for three spoons so my husband and I could taste our son's cheddar cheese soup at LeCellier. We got three 3/4 full bowls of soup! And only charged for one. And that was AFTER my husband and I each ordered an appetizer!

You never go hungry at Disney World. I think it's impossible.

Yes, Disney is known for BIG portions.....and I don't want to come home 10 lbs heavier..ha ha ha! If we split it than I only gain 5 lbs...ha ha ha!!!!:cheer2:

We have done this many times and have had some of our best meals this way. I do keep in mind to tip like we ordered two meals since the server did serve two people and should be tipped accordingly.
