We are staying for about 10 days and doing probably 4 days at Disney and 4 days at Universal the first week in August. This is the most indecisive I have ever been. Can't decide if I want one place central to both locations or to switch hotels in the middle. Any suggestions?:confused3 Usuallly, I would already have everything planned by now, but adding Universal has thrown me for a loop. The kids really wanted to try it out, especially because of the Harry Potter addition. We are a family of 5 (kids 13, 9 and 8). We usually stay offsite in a pool home, so prefer not to be cramped in a hotel room for over a week.

Please help!!:worship:

If you have already decided offsite, I'd go for somewhere convenient to both. Very easy, they aren't far from each other. Staying onsite gives you perks at both parks, but much more expensive (especially at US hotels) and you'd have to deal with small quarters with a family of five. Have fun!!

Why dont you just rent a house??
Much cheaper and lots of amenities. We are leaving thursday for a 12 day trip

We had a similar situation -- we are Disney veterans. Zero interest in that "U" place until WWoHP was announced. We are staying at the BWV and then off to a house in Davenport. If doing Disney, I think staying onsite is the best bet for ticket deals. Split stays are ok.

We're doing a split stay in October -

3 nts at Royal Pacific then moving to some place onsite at Disney. ( still not 100% on which location at Disney )

We opted for Royal Pacific for two main reasons - 1) free Universal Express Pass for anyone staying at one of the 3 Universal Resorts and 2) they currently have packages at Universal for their properties that allow guest early access to the Harry Potter area of IOA. The price was pretty good too.
