Split stays & luggage?

For one, I've been told that by more than one Bell Services CM involved in the process, and a resort manager. I have no reason to doubt them.

Additionally, the logistics of each resort doing point to point transfers is, operationally, inefficient and just plain stupid. Using a central hub as a transfer point is the simplest way to move thousands of pieces of luggage between 23 resorts quickly and with minimal travel.

That's honestly hilarious as I have actually been doing this job for several years at a DVC resort.

And yes, a central hub does seem like it would be the most efficient process and was tested many years ago, but for whatever reason was not permanently implemented.

Please do not go spouting information as 'fact' when it is far from it.

We just attempted this yesterday. Pop to contemporary.

At the advice of others I did call bell services the night before our intended transfer to schedule a luggage pickup. I was told that was not necessary and to call in the morning and they would send someone up. IMO one issue with Pop is that bell services can be a very far walk and luggage carts are not easily accessible.

I called in the morning around 9 am as instructed and was told we could bring our bags to bell services but that they ‘were not sending anyone out that day.’ As in, they did not have the staff to send to rooms. Instead we just loaded our car ourselves which was a process involving multiple trips (8 day trip) with a toddler in tow.

We drove ourselves to AK and then to contemporary. We arrived around 7:30 pm and told the guard that we were staying garden view. He told us there would be someone who could help us with luggage by the back enterance to garden view buildings by the parking lot. There was not. I checked each enterance. There were also no luggage carts. We could have just driven back to the main building for assistance but chose to just do it ourselves.

Not a huge deal and none of this is to knock Disney, just meant to show that experiences are variable.
