Hi there everyone! DH and I are contemplating a trip this Nov-Dec and are keeping our fingers crossed for free dining. I had some questions regarding doing a split stay and how that works with the promotion.

We’re planning to fly into MCO on Thanksgiving Day, November 22nd and fly home Saturday, December 1st. Based on last year’s FD dates it looks like we may need to do a split stay to get FD since I believe it’s based on arrival/check in dates. We also have done split stays in the past and kind of enjoy trying out different resorts. I was hoping for thoughts/tips on the plan below. This is all super early stages as we obviously don’t know if/when FD will be happening, but I would appreciate any advice!!

November 22nd: fly in to MCO and stay with my in laws
November 23rd: stay with in laws
November 24th: Universal Studios (DHs roller coaster fix :P) Stay at ASSp or other value for the night
November 25th (potential FD start date?): hopefully check into Pop Century
November 25th-December 1st: two options - either stay at Pop the whole time or splurge one or possibly two nights at a Moderate or Deluxe. My questions about this is how it would affect FD if we have it. If it would end the FD deal to change and stay at a Mod/Deluxe then we’d just stay at Pop. But DH would love a night at ALK or CB or something so I wanted to see what our options would be.

Sorry this is so long winded and potentially confusing. I appreciate any advice! Excited to be jumping back into WDW planning again! :)

Your FD deal would end if you were to switch resorts. However, if you have any dining credits left over you could use those until midnight on checkout day of your FD stay. You could maybe get a room only offer for a night or 2 at a mod or deluxe after the FD stay.
Also, you might consider staying at one of the Universal hotels that offer free Express Pass the night of Nov. 24th, as that will cut way down on waiting in lines on a busy day. We stay at Royal Pacific, and it's totally worth it for that reason alone.

Well I looked into staying at Universal and the total for a one day park hopper and one night at a hotel would be about $870... for just the two of us that seems a little steep, so we may find a cheap offsite or maybe have that night be our one night at a mod/deluxe and then do the rest at Pop. I’m just so impatient for FD dates!! :rolleyes1
