We are considering a split stay for our 10 day trip June 2025. I'm not certain I want the hassle of changing resorts but my daughter really wants to do it. We will not be able to take advantage of the free water park perk on arrival day, but have been told that if you do a split stay, the perk can be used your check in day at the 2nd resort. Can anyone speak to this? We will be at All Star Movies initially, but thinking about PORFQ for the split. We have stayed at Riverside so many times and love it there as well.

I'm assuming you mean 2026, right? May already be on your radar but just in case, the water park arrival day benefit for 2026 has been announced as available "during the summer of 2026" with the specific dates TBD. I "assume" June will in fact be "summer 2026" but keep an eye out just in case Disney opts to define "summer" differently than the rest of us. :-)

PS: I agree, with a 10-day stay, splitting is a great way to broaden experience at different resorts and to mix up the trip.

They can be a hassle, but if you plan your move date well, it’s not horrible. 10 days is perfect got split stay and would do it in a heartbeat beat. Hit up that water park on your move day b

Nay for sure. Definitely stick to just ONE resort hotel. If you really like a certain restaurant and you’re ok with being able to swim at ONLY the resort hotel that you’re staying in, you can always hop to other resorts.

I think a split stay can be good if you are gaining an advantage by moving. FQ gives you the smaller resort and the boat to Disney Springs, but a smaller food court. It is up to you as to whether it is worth the trouble or not.

I've never personally done a split day but would absolutely explore the possibility of doing it the way you've described it. 10 days seems like the perfect length to split down the middle, you'd get to stay at two different resorts that are both fun in their own ways, and you'd get that free waterpark day.

To me, the perfect middle-of-the-trip day sounds like breakfast at Movies, sending your luggage over to POFQ (or driving to POFQ and dropping off with bell services if you'll have your car), heading to the waterpark until 2-3 PMish, then back to POFQ to freshen up and dinner at Disney Springs.

Nay from me, I've done 3, and after the last one I swore I would never do another. You are basically without a home once you check out, which means if something unexpected happens and you want to go back to your room, you can't.
