I think I might know the answer to this but I would appreciate any opinions. Here are our options:

5 nights at the GF or
3 nights at VWL(or BCV if available)and 3 nights at GF

We would save roughly 200.00 to stay the extra night, but I am wondering if anyone feels that we should stay at the GF the whole time and if so why!

Thanks for any advice or opinions.

PS. We can get VWL right now, but have to wait until April to try and book BCV. Our rentor doesn't have the option of booking at BCV yet. THat would be our first choice since it puts us in the EPcot area!

If it were me, I'd figure out how that $200 savings for staying another day compares to how much it'll cost me to be there that one more day (food, car rental (if applicable), etc.).

Next, I'd think about how comfortable I am with my options for moving between resorts and how long that's likely to take me. Do I want to let Disney schlep my luggage, or would I prefer to do that myself? Will packing, checking out, traveling to the new resort, checking in, and unpacking take so much of one day that the extra day won't be worthwhile?

Finally, I'd wonder whether a 3 night/3 night split stay would let me get comfortable. Will I end up living out of suitcases for three days?

That said, I'd probably go ahead and do the extra day. :goodvibes

I would stay at the GF for 5 nights. If you stay an extra day, but split your stay between two resorts how much extra time is it really going to give you. You have the hassle of checking out of one room and checking into another room, waiting to get in your new room, and a chance that you may not get your luggage until late in the day. To me it just wouldn't be worth it if I was going to waste most of my extra day changing hotels.

Thanks for your replies!
Ransom: That 200.00 savings includes the extra night on the dining plan as well! We don't rent a car and we always use Disney to schlepp our luggage! We have done a move previously and found it not too difficult and a feeling of two different vacations. However, that was a move between a mod and deluxe. This would essentially be between two deluxes. I guess I really have to decide if I just want the experience of staying at two different resorts. We live in MD and so we won't get back again soon, so I guess I just wanted to try two different resorts.

But again I have never stayed at the GF so I am worried I might feel like: Gee I should have stayed here for longer!

Thanks again for your replies!

Have fun making your choice!

I always tie myself in knots over decisions, but then I think, "Hey, it's Disney. I'll have fun no matter what!" :goodvibes

I think doing two resorts would be a hassle. I know that I like to unpack my things and set up everything so that it is easily accessible. I wouldn't want to have to do that, pack it up, unpack it again, and then pack it to go home. I want to have more time to just enjoy my time and the resort. I guess it is really just a matter of opinion though. Whatever you decide, don't stress about it and just enjoy!!
(oh about the not going back for awhile--we said that too last July. We're booked for this July.)
