Ok everyone,

Need your input::

Have ressies for 2 rooms for 9 nights AKL concierge May9-May 18.

I am strongly considering splitting our stay. Have never done this before. Any suggestions on a good split. Don't know whether to save AKL Concierge for last or start with it. I think I'd like to try a monorail resort. Never done that before.

Thanks for your opinions.

I would base my split stay on what parks you plan to frequent.
You may want to do the BW and AKL. BW has lots going on, the AKL will be much more quiet.

I would save the AKL conceirge for last.

We did a split in July with the Polynesian, BWV and the AKL. For our yearly summer trips we are going to start splitting between the Polynesian (5 nights) and the AKL (3 nights). They are our favorite resorts! I like going to the Polynesian first because we spend most of our time at the MK. It was nice to end our trip at the AKL where it is very relaxing:cool:

It is such a wonderful Resort. Back in May we split our stay between the CBR and the GF. We fell in love. Save the concierge for the end and I think you should stay at a monrail resort and enjoy MK then have some down time at AKL.

Last week, we split a seven day stay between AKL Concierge at YC and it was great!

One thing to remember, unless you have your own car to travel with your bags from one resort to the next, you will have to surrender your bags to Bell Services and instruct them on which resort you would like them to be sent.

Simply carrying all of your Rollerboard suitcased, garment bags, etc. on the WDW Buses and Monorails is not an option at least as I was told by both Bell Services and the Concierge staff at AKL.

Hope this helps,

Wendell

Can't give suggestions on hotels/resorts but I will say I would end my stay at the "better" one.

We are splitting our stay next December and becuase we will be coming from far away and will need down time to adjust to time change and long trip , we will be going to AKL 1st for 4 night s and then Grand Floridian for 6 nights, I have never stayed at either one, but I know we will be slow moving on the start of our trip!! we will also be staying concierge . Have a great trip!!

I n June I split my stay like this, AKL, Poly then BWI. I don't regret splitting it at all, will I do it again, YES. Next yr. I think I am going to do GF and YC or BWI. :D

Thanks for all your opinions.

So, I've decided I should keep AKL Concierge for last. Maybe 4 nights.

I'd love to try the Grand FLoridian. I think that would be my first choice. I have to hope for some good codes or AP rates. The Poly seems to be alot of people's favorite.

I thought I was done researching. Here we go again.

Thats part of the disney fun, I guess

I've done split stays the last few 'big' trips we've done, and we actually look forward to it! It gives you a chance, depending on what resorts you chose, to have totally different experiences. What I would do is .. since you're already thinking of it anyway ... choose a monorail resort, and while there, do the MK, Epcot, and then, when you transfer to AKL, do just AKL and MGM.

We will be splitting our stay for our 2003 trip with 3 nights at AKL(first time there)and 7 nights at the GF(our favorite!)
Good luck in deciding, my vote of course would be for the GF.

I'd like to do the GF, but I don't know what kind of discounted rates are available for that hotel.\

My choices would definitely be the GF or the Poly. Again, I don't know what the rates are for these.

I don't know if this helps but we were there this past May, at the BWI at a code rate of $229 a night and if I remember correctly, there was a code rate for the GF and it was , I think $20-$30 more per night. We were lucky to stay at the GF last Nov for $199 per night!!! That was an AP rate.
