Split stay SSR/Poly?

Hi DISers,

I'm getting the itch as we haven't been to the World in two years! Used our 2016 & part of 2017 points for Aulani and did DCL over NYE with my ILs, but there's no replacing the magic at WDW!

There's decent studio availability, and I am thinking of the first two nights at SSR, then moving over Poly for two nights. We've never split a stay, how much of a pain in the butt is it? We have an Owners Locker, is that an easy thing for bell services to move for us? Will bell services move our suitcases?

TIA!

Two nights at each resort? I wouldn't do it, you will spend more time moving instead of enjoying your vacation.

Yeah that's what I am afraid of! Plus DH is not a fan of studios (we bought DVC a few years ago to sprawl out in 1 BRs), so staying in a studio plus having to switch might be a dealbreaker for him on a short trip. Thanks for the honest opinion!

If it's just two adults, the move isn't too bad. Just pack up all of your stuff and drop it off with Bell Services and have them move it to your new resort. Go out and play at the park for the day. When you are done (or when your room is ready), head to the new resort and pick up your bags from Bell Services. I wouldn't plan to do a pool day on your move day though. Plan to do something that will keep you busy until about 3 or 4pm (estimated check-in time). We do split stays all the time, and with just the two adults we don't have any issues.

Have a great trip!

I say go, and I supposed I would WL the second 2 nights at SSR.

It's four of us, so adding in our two girls. Thanks for the rec!

There's actually full availability at SSR! I know it's a short notice trip but was hoping I'd luck out and we could stay at a resort we haven't been to yet (done two stays at SSR).

If your DH doesn't like the family doing a split stay, can you afford to all four nights at the Poly? The rooms are the largest DVC studios at WDW. If you can and it is an availability issue, I would book the two nights at SSR and the Poly and wait list the SSR two nights for PVB. Then you will be at the same resort all four nights.

That's a great idea--I've never done a waitlist but that would be Ideal to have Poly for all four nights. Thanks for the suggestion!
