Split Stay/Park ticket question

We will be doing our first split stay in January. The AKL lodge for 2 nights with a Pin code then moving over to the Poly on the 4/3 deal.

We first booked the Poly on the 4/3 deal and have the Park Hopper tickets for 8 days. When the pin code for AKL arrived in the mail we decided to book 2 extra nights before the Poly. We have room only resversation. We were going to buy a one day ticket for the Animal Kingdom Park but after reading these boards I should move the Park Hopper tickets to the AK ressie right? This would save money?

If it does save money how does the split stay work with the tickets? A friend at work claims that the hotel cm's never get the tickets right and it took her 3 hours standing there for the CM to fix the ticket problem. This seems scary too me.

1) Does it save money for me to switch the tickets to the first ressie and up the number of days.

2) Can someone explain how the tickets work when you move to the new resort?

3) Any other advise would be GREAT!!:)

Thanks

You can't move the tickets to the first part of your stay unless you cancel your room-only and make it a package with tickets. Then you would lose any room-only discount from your PIN code.

You can't "switch" the tickets, per se. You could change your room only reservation to a package. BUT - the buy 4 get 3 free deal is only for packages - meaning you'd have to purchase tickets twice. The minimum on a buy 4 get 3 free package is a 5 day base ticket.

Any savings you'd experience between the two discounts would be severely cut into by having to buy admission twice. If you're okay with buying another 1 day ticket, I would stick with that plan. Or - you could just enjoy the Animal Kingdom Lodge amenities, go to Downtown Disney.....

Bottom line - I would leave everything as it is. :)

Thanks - I re-looked at the 4/3 ressies and you are right, it includes the park tickets. Hey...at least I get to still go in 2 days early and finally stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. This is the real treat!

Use only the tickets from the first stay, ordering or adding days as needed to cover the whole vacation.

If the second stay is a package, you must order some kind of ticket (occasionally there is a minimum length) and you should save that set of tickets, unused, for next time. Non=expiration is not needed.

You do not have to move the tickets anywhere but it is suggested you remove the second set of admissions from the room key cards to separate cards to avoid accidentally using them. (See the concierge).

I am not sure about this, but I have heard something similar before:

I am not sure if this will work with the 4/3 deal :confused3, but I believe you can add a day onto your package (your 2nd hotel). I think you may be able to go to the hotel the day before, have your tickets separated from your check-in and pick them up that day instead of waiting until the next day. Then you could use it to go to the park that day. I am not sure if I am explaining it correctly, but I have heard about others doing this before. Then, your room only res for 1st 2 nights would still stand & you could have the extra day you wanted in the parks. You could just wait until you get there & ask if you can add the day & get the tickets early, if not, you are no worse off.

Good luck & hope it works out for you. :cheer2:
