Split stay, no DP on the 2nd leg

I've seen a few of these types of questions pop up, and I've seen different answers.

We are doing a split stay, where we have a DP for the first leg of our stay, and NO dining plan for the 2nd leg. Do our credits "expire" when we check in to the 2nd resort OR do they "expire" at midnight of the day we check out of the first resort? I've seen it answered both ways. I'm hoping it's the 2nd one because we *always* do online check-in so we don't have to stop at the front desk (and I want to decline the 2nd set of magicbands which is apparently on the online check-in page now.)

They expire at midnight.... with that said I just had issues in December once I checked into my second reservation there was issues accessing the credits from my magic band.

how did you have to resolve that issue? we have the QS plan and i would rather not be "that person" who holds up an entire line because of this. I also don't want to have to eat dinner at 4pm just so I can use the pool before we go watch fireworks in MK.

Had to go to the front desk at the resort and have them sort it out. It was less than ideal but I also don’t think it’s an every time issue.... I think we were just unlucky lol
