Split stay in 4 nights... bad idea?

We are thinking about a split level between Beach Club CL and Grand Floridian CL. Two nights in each. We'll do BC, spending days at the resorts and walk to HS and Epcot for evenings. Spend the morning at the pool, check out, drive to GF. Evening at MK. Not sure which park the last day.

Any cons to this plan?

It really depends how you travel. Short splits work for my family because we don't unpack much. It's easy for us to grab our bags and drop at luggage services with a request to transfer or to toss in our car, if we drive. If we had little kids with strollers, toys, snacks, etc. I wouldn't want to.

We did a Poly/ BC/ CBR split with 2-3 nights each one year and it was great!

The main downsides I see are that (1) it sounds like very little park time, and you'd be missing the short morning waits every day, and (2) the best club level benefit is the dinnertime hors d'ouerves offering, which you'd be missing by doing the second half of the day in each park. I'd much rather flip it, and do mornings at the parks and evenings at the resorts.

I didn’t think about the hors douerves so thank you for that point!! We usually do mornings in the parks and thought we would switch it up this trip. We never see night time shows. But maybe you’re right and we should switch it for a couple of days.
And we do have kids, but we travel pretty light. We have been to Disney many many times and no longer over pack.

I don't mind a split stay on a longer trip, but I just did a 5 night and it was a pain (but I do like to unpack what I am going to be using). I left what I didn't need for those days/nights in my case, but coming back the night before the move exhausted and then having to pack was not fun. I felt like I was just settling in and had to pack up again, and then I barely moved in before I was out of the second room (2 nights) because I had to be out before 11 after the second night. I was without a room (and my luggage for most of a day smack in the middle of my trip, and then didn't get my luggage for HOURS after I got my new room....that's a whole other story). Then I had one full day to go do the parks, then back to pack, and had to be out and have my bags checked in to go to the airport later that day. I never felt like I got settled, and it was exhausting. If you pack really light then maybe that would work for you, but it really eats up time I would rather spend relaxing or in the parks.

I did do two CLs though, that part was great since I had a place to go eat and hang before/after I had to leave my rooms, but it was still a pain.

We do split stays every time we go to Disney. Some longer than others. We too don't unpack so for us it is easy. We have 4 kids and it never was a problem. I like split stays that include an EPCOT resort and a MK resort. It makes it easier to get to the parks. When you go to a CL resort at least you have a lounge to hang out in before the room is ready. I say do it and Enjoy!
