Split Stay Help!!

My husband & I will be at Disney for the 1st week in October. Since we now have free dining, I thought we'd change from CSR to a deluxe hotel.

Right now we have 7 day premium ticket with 6 nights at CSR for $1659.

When I called to change to 2 nights at POP & 4 nights at AKL, my price went up since the rep said she'd have to change our tickets to a 3-day and 4-day instead of the 7-day we have now. The cost increase would be over $500 to split my stay!!!

Would I be better off staying at CSR? Buying cheaper tickets? Staying at AKL the entire trip? Advice, please??

Only way to tell is have them quote you each price. I would be interested in the 7 day akl, that is probably cheaper than the split. If your doing the std. room. And you have to decide just how much you are willing to pay. In the end a deluxe will cost more than the mod, but remember you are saving on the food, so you have extra $$$ to spend?

Good luck, but I cannot say no when it comes to "well its only this much more too ....."

I don't understand why you have to split your tickets? If you book it all together at the same time there should be no reason to buy two sets of tickets. We just did a split stay in May with the dining plan and we didn't have to purchase seperate tickets.

I'm sorta hoping it's cause the rep made a mistake - she put me on hold for quite a while. Or maybe it has something to do with the free dining code?

If you're switching you have to make 2 ressies which would require 2 deposits and you'd need to include some sort of ticket media in each ressie. It's charging you twice for tickets. I asked about this today

I called again tonight. You are required to have some sort of ticket for each room.

I started with 7 day premium pass, 6 nights at CSR, no dining plan. MYW Pkg = $1680. Total Expenses = $4000

Then I added the free dining plan for 6 days. MYW Pkg = $1680. Total Expenses = $3250

Finally I added a 1 day base pass, 1 night to our trip (so we don't have to cut that last day short & now have dining for all 7 days), changed from CSR to 3 nights at the All-Star Music (standard room) and 4 nights at the AKL (savannah view). MYW Pkg = $2298. Total Expenses = $3775.
