Thinking about doing a split stay. Will the resort help us move our things from one hotel to the other? Or would we have to pay for a Minnie van or something?

Yes, if you are moving from one Disney Resort to another, Bell Services will move your luggage. They will pick it up from your room or you can bring it to them.
When you get into your new room later in the day, pick up the room phone and call bell services. They will deliver your luggage only when you are in the room, unlike Disney’s Magical Express. You can also go to Bell services and gather it yourself. It won’t be ready till late afternoon, usually by 4pm, so pack a few necessary items in a small daypack.

They will only pick up your luggage from your room if you are present to let them in the room for the luggage transfer.

Depending on how busy the transfer team is you luggage may not arrive at your next resort until 4-6 PM.

You can also call (or stop by) Bell Services the day before your move and schedule a time for them to come pick up your bags the next morning. We've done this many, many times and they have ALWAYS shown up 5 minutes before the appointed time. I've had a couple of the Bell Services folks tell me how much they appreciate those appointments as it helps them plan better. And that they always handle the appointments first.

All the luggage transfers from all the resorts occur in one massive wave at about 1 PM. All luggage should be at the new resorts by 4pm (it's often earlier, depending on volume). As mentioned, they don't deliver unless you're in the room to receive it (and tip).

As long as you have any necessary medications, or other items with you, is a pretty simple and stress free process.

Just remember to tip on both ends of the transaction.

I was trying to figure out if I wanted to do a split stay and then they changed how the fast pass system works with split stays. I would make sure you're up to date on some of the changes in regards to that before you book. If that is not an issue for you, good luck! I love the idea of a split stay.

I am thinking of a split stay too. What changes to FP and what if I cancel and rebook a different hotel, will that affect my FPs?

I thought the fast pass issues were settled. Only dining reservations are booked as two 180 day reservations.

Has anyone transferred milk and yogurt to the second hotel. I was going to do a grocery order. We will also have some bottled water.

Q“ If I am staying at Disney World for two weeks and I am splitting my time between two separate Disney resorts, do I have to make fast pass selections twice? Or can I make them all in the first booking window?”

Answer
"...Since you will be enjoying a "split-stay" vacation, you will have two separate Disney Resort hotel reservations, one for each of your Disney Resort hotels, and you will have two separate FastPass+ reservation windows. You will be able to make FastPass+ reservations for the first week of your vacation 60 days in advance of your first check-in date and then you can make reservations for your second week 60 days in advance of your second check-in date. ... "

Now I know that some people have different experiences, but this is the answer from Disney.
