I'm planning to do a split stay at the end of June, beginning July. My kids are 8, 6 and 3. We plan to do the first 4 nights at BLT and am trying to figure out whether to do Saratoga, Animal Kingdom, Boardwalk or Old Key West. Which of these four resorts do you think offer most for young kids? Also, we do plan to do Epcot. Do you think it's better to do Epcot while staying at BLT assuming we don't do a split stay at Boardwalk? I read there's a Epcot line monorail train, but not sure how accurate that is...TIA =)

AKL has amazing theming and the animals for kids to see. We stayed at Kidani Village and the pool area was very nice, too. Awesome splash area for littles. My boys loved the resort- we just got back Wednesday. We have stayed at the other resorts as well, but out of those- I think AKL would be best for young kids.

BW is the only one within walking distance to Epcot. From the others, you’d have to take a bus. BLT- you could monorail, but it would require a transfer. You ride monorail to TTC then get off and board Epcot monorail.

I would do Boardwalk or Animal Kingdom (though, keep in mind, standard rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge only sleep 4, so not sure what room category you are considering? Are you looking at the villas?). Boardwalk will offer you super convenient proximity to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Animal Kingdom is lovely, but I would probably do the majority of your park touring (MK, EP, DHS) prior to checking in.

I would do Boardwalk and plan to go to Epcot and Hollywood Studios the days you are staying there. It is worth a lot to be able to walk back to the hotel from the park when a kid needs a break. During the BLT days I would focus on MK. All these hotels are great, but being able to get back to your room quickly—priceless.

The benefit of BW and BC is the proximity to both EP and HS. But AK would be my selection with 3 kids. Those parks aren’t that far from AK so it’s well worth it.

With kids, I like the idea of BLT and then AKL. You can focus on MK and EP (both via monorail) while at BLT. Then focus on AK and HS (both via bus or drive) while at AK.
