SPLIT RESERVATIONS and ADR's A NIGHTMARE!

I am booked as Mickeyluver37 is, and could not book past my first part of a split stay, even though I had spoken with two CMs during the week to be sure this would not be an issue--but come sunday morning, I was only allowed to make ADRs for the 15th and 16th. At least I got my CRT (although I had to pay for it) and my BBB reservations! I was on hold yesterday for the rest of the adrs, and got everything I was looking for. In fact, I called back later in the day and was able to get another ADR for CRT and cancelled the credit card hold on the other one. So now I can use the DDP on that ADR if I choose.

There are so many having those split reservation issues, I just HAD to jump back on here.
I was in SAME boat, three different cms and guess what....they
CAN and they WILL book 10 days worth, do not even mention the second reservation/booking and say you are following with rest of your dates....I was told by the CM that did it, of course, sometimes the system jumps out, they just try again....goodness, such stress for so many, for NO logical reason. SO, PLEASE take a chance and CALL AGAIN, don't give up!!!!

GOOD LUCK ALL!! :wizard::wizard:

Thanks! We did keep trying. We called back 4 times and never mentioned our split-stay and each time we were locked out from booking for our whole stay. I have to say I'm really upset at Disney for this issue. People who have a split-stay should not be treated differently than those staying at one resort. We're still staying on Disney property for the entire stay. Very frustrating!! Especially during free dining those extra couple of days we are forced to wait can mean all the difference in whether you can get the ADR's you want. Good luck to the rest of you!!

I did get my Chef Mickey's Yippie! :)

When the CM was looking my date and time up I very nicely said "I just want to tell you that if I its all booked I'm going to get very mad. I will explain why if needed. I apologize if I start to fuss at you because I know this will not be directly your fault" She laughed and said "Oh I'm so glad I have Aug 16 at 9:10am for you" :)

She was a great CM. I always forget to hold on and do the survey but wanted to this time. Unfortunately, while I did hold on, after the initial do you want to do a survey chatter it never connected me to the survey :(

Good luck to all of you who are dealing with split stays.

She probably didn't send you to the survey because what she did is against the policy that came out on Saturday!! Because Disney got word that some unhonest guests and TA's were booking one night stays on the 15th of August to get a jump on free dine reservations the policy went in to effect that those with split stays had to call back at the 90 day mark for their 2nd res. Disney has to try to keep everyone happy. I am not sure why anyone was able to book the reservations because the memo was plain and clear!! The CM's that did go ahead and book these split stays will reprimanded.

I know I am going to get flamed :firefight for this, but here goes.;)

Last New Years we celebrated our 25th anniversary at WDW. My wife and I had decided that we wanted to dine at Jiko for our anniversary, which happens to be New Years Eve. Between school and work schedules I could only take that week, so could not be there for Christmas and New Years which would have covered the whole 10 day timeframe.

But I HAD to have Jiko on NYE, no ifs, ands, or buts.

In talking to the dining line cast members I determined that though a room reservation is needed for the 90+10 rule (or 180+10 at the time I made my Jiko reservation) the dining reservation is not tied to that room reservation. In other words, if you cancel the room reservation it will not automatically cancel the dining reservation. So that's what I had to do - book a room only reservation far enough from NYE to guarantee the booking window, make the dining reservation on the first available day, and then later cancel the room reservation.

I know the Dining Police will jump on this, but my choice was to either please the Wife or the DP. Sorry, Dining Police - you lose.

Your not the only one that did this, no worries!! Now there is a policy for split stays, 90+10 for EACH start of your stay!!

I agree- I had no problems except one CM who told me I couldn't - I just called back and no problems. I even had to call every day for the extra ADR's that were past my 90 +10 since we are there for 18 nights. I had no problems, but I had to go through that call every day from a Saturday till the following Friday.

What helped me was saying - Can you please just try to any CM's who gave me a hard time. I even had one CM appologize to me 3 times saying she wishes they would tell her stuff like this. Hang in there and keep trying :)

Our situation is this. DH and I arrive on a Fri. afternoon (we are doing this because our DGD is flying in by herself on Sat. and we wanted to make sure we arrived a day early in case of flight problems we HAVE to be there for her arrival as she is flying solo). We have booked a room only for Fri. with one Reservation # and then another reservation# for the next 8 days with the same room and free deluxe dining. So what should I say when we book are ADR's for Fri. in hopes of booking all our ADR's on that day even though she doesn't come in until Sat. Could I at least book our ADR's for Fri. and Sat. on that first 90 day(will just be DH and myself until dinner) or do I have to wait until the next day to book for Sat. It is so complicated since we will be two people for a day and then three for the rest but it is the exact same room for both reservation #'s. HELP.

UPDATE - I called this morning at 9:00 AM exactly - got an incredible CM at member services, she said they were receiving many complaints about the new system and were "working on it". Anyway, she went above & beyond to get me all the reservations I wanted and she did it all in about 30 minutes. I only had to "alter" one for le Cellier, seems to be hard to get these days. I wanted to give her a rave review in the survey but was disconnected so I sent an e-mail on the DVC website instead. Hope everyone else has the same luck I did.

Really glad to hear that you had good luck and that they are listening to the complaints!! A system that penalizes Disney property guests just for changing resorts is just wrong. I'm happy things worked out for you. :thumbsup2
