I'm so far behind, so I think I'm going to start with Saturday's topic through today...
Phones-
Camera- While I prefer the image quality, speed, and versatility with my DSLR I use my phone camera on a daily basis.
Useful Apps- I'm sure we all have apps that we love. Some are truly useful (like digital coupons, music, weather, navigation) while others are sort of novelty useful. The truly useful ones kind of go without saying, but the novelty ones like my Garmin app or the plant ID one I just loaded have their places as well.
Portability- I guess maybe it's a blessing and a curse, but long gone are the days of buying ultra long phone cords to stretch between rooms, cordless phones where you paid more for improved range and a longer antenna, or answering machines to take your messages while you're away.
South Dakota-
Not my home state but I've been there a number of times and it's a great place to visit. If it weren't for its harsh winters and limited flights, the Rapid City area would be on our list of retirement considerations.
Custer- It's a great park, from the wildlife to the scenery.
Badlands- I remember our first visit. It surprised the heck out of me. It's definitely one of those places where it feels sort of other-wordly. It also kind of feels like it comes from out of nowhere. Like, you're immersed in grasslands and then this spectacle.
Powder House Lodge - It's right near Mount Rushmore. It's a great place to stay, with its log cabin vibes, but it's also got a phenomenal restaurant. The cinnamon roll at breakfast is enormous and their wild game options at dinner add to that vibe of being in that region of the country.
Squishy-
Honey Stinger Gummies- These are energy gummies that are popular in the race community. I've had mixed results with them but I was so happy to have them yesterday. My normal race nutrition was too heavy for the warm conditions but the gummies worked well.
Dog- I like to call her squishy. She's not horribly overweight or anything like that (could still shed a few), but after her recent weigh in, I can say she's about 80 pounds of squishy love.
Recovery shoes- I didn't need them after this race, but last month, I used my Oofos for my feet in the middle of back to back half marathon days. The squishy recovery footbed does wonders for the feet. I have the shoes and the flip flops.
