Split Reservation: A Problem??

I just recently made a reservation for our trip at the end of November and going into early December. We are DVC members, but since we've used up our points we decided to stay on cash splitting our stay between WL and YC.

Here's where the problem comes in. I made the reservation as a AAA member and received the discounted rate. The CM said that he was going to link the reservations together under one confirmation number. Lo and behold the confirmation comes in the mail on Saturday and only the YC portion, which is the second half of our stay is showing.

I called down to WDW and they confirmed that they indeed have both legs of the stay entered into the computer, but somehow the YC portion is listed with a different confirmation number. When I went to My Disney Vacation on the WDW site, I type in the supposed linked confirmation number, and once again only the YC portion of the trip shows with the second confirmation number showing.

Has anyone had any problems such as this show up when they are splitting stays? I'm beginning to think I made a mistake and probably should have made the WL reservation, and then called right back and made the YC ressie.

We booked a 6 day package at AKL for next month :Pinkbounc . Since we are driving down DH decided to add a day at ASMo to the beginning of our trip. We were given a supposedly combined confirmation number but whenever I tried to check it online it only shows the ASMo reservation. When I tried to put in the original AKL reservation number it switches itself to show the ASMo too :confused3 I'm not worried anymore because we just got our luggage tags and confirmation info for AKL last week.
I think there's a few bugs to be worked out at the WDW website. I always have trouble accessing things in the My Disney Vacation section.

You will always have two separate ressie numbers for a split reservation. If you want to be able to look up both ressies online, ask the CM to book two completely separate reservations. If the CM books one ressie and then you ask to add the 2nd resort on the same ressie you won't be able to view it. The CM can also add "continuing reservation" comments to the ressie and you'll be fine. Hope this helps!

Thank you both for your responses. I now know that if this situation ever arises again that I will book two separate reservations, and not try to book under one code. You'd think that they'd have a sophisticated enough system that would allow two or more resorts to be booked under one number, or at the very least have one number that links to two other reservation numbers.

A future enhancement?? One can only hope. At least it makes me feel better that I'm not the only one having this problem.
