Split an entree at Blue Bayou?

I was wondering whether 2 adults can split an entrée at lunch at the Blue Bayou (my daughter and I cannot manage a Monte Cristo sandwich alone!), or is this frowned upon. Of course, it would also be a good way for us to eat there without busting the food budget. I can't get over those prices! I remember the days (waaaay back!) when my husband and I used to go to the BB at lunch and simply order a soup and a dessert each. This doesn't seem to be an option any more.

I believe there's a fee to split plates, but you can do it. I split one with my daughter last time and that was perfect.

I had wanted to just get soup and dessert as well, but can confirm that is no longer an option.

Yes, you can split entrees at the Blue Bayou, but as mom2rtk mentioned, there is a split plate fee. Each entree comes with an starter and sides, so if you opt to "split" a meal, they'll split the entree, but each guest will get their own starter and sides. I think the split plate fee is around $12 or so. You can also "share" a meal, which means they only bring one starter and the normal amount of sides.

Do they charge an additional fee if you are just "sharing" and they don't have to split anything, but maybe bring you an extra plate?

Thanks for the prompt replies! It's much appreciated. Both suggested options (split or share) are excellent.

No, you shouldn't be charged if you "share" (i.e., one starter, one serving of sides). I would guess that they'll bring you an extra plate if you ask for one.

Just a note, but I used the terms "split" and "sharing", but you're server may have a slightly different take on it. So just make sure you're clear to the server which option you want so everything is clear to everyone.

That's right. If you ask to split, they will charge the $12 and split it for you, giving each person his/her own sides. If you say you're going to share and just ask for an extra plate, there is not split fee.

You can no longer go for just soup and a dessert? We went last Feb and one evening we went there for dinner and then we wanted to go one more time and just enjoy a dessert one afternoon and the waitress was happy to do that. Did they just tell you that you cannot order that and it had to be an entrée? I think that's unfortunate and it actually bugs me that you have to order a full meal and they don't allow you to order a soup and dessert anymore!

And by the way, the "side" that comes with the monte cristo at BB is a skewer with 2 berries and a piece of dragon fruit. For some entrees I think the $12 is worth it for the extra side, for that one, consider just sharing.

I think you could probably still go and just order the dessert because those have a separate price point. The soup (a starter) does not have a separate price point; it's included in the price of the entree.

You can order things a la carte at CS places. I think TS doesn't offer it because many people would order side soup and side salad and spend a full meal's length of time eating them. Whereas if they allow just dessert they can still turn the table over very quickly. I do wish that they would bring back an entree salad, though.
