Splash Mountain ?

Where can we sit to get the least wet? We have an ADR at Narcoosees that night and I don't think we will be able to make it back to the hotel beforehand. Thanks!

A CM working the loading platform at Splash Mountain asked me once if I wanted to get more splashed or stay more dry. I was carrying a bag that night that wasn't very water resistant and I was concerned about my phone and my portable charger, so I said more dry please. He put me in the third row. I got a little splashed, but nothing insane, and my bag was fine.

On the next trip I wasn't worried about it and was sat in the first row... and got drenched.

As long as you don't stop by that mini waterfall! It is after the drop right before the last small hill. I think I get the most wet there...

I truly don't think there's a place in the boat where that can be guaranteed. Get in a boat with bigger people, and there will be more water. No matter where you're sitting.

If I had a fancy dinner somewhere there is NO chance I would go anywhere near a ride that had any water anywhere.

Usually the closer to the front of the boat, the wetter you get.

The left side is dryer simply because the water fall splasher near the end is on the right.
Also, you could maybe put some clothes in a day locker that you can change into before your dining reservation.

1) Person on the right is likely to get splashed by other boats coming down
2) Never sit in a boat that is heavily front weighted!!! The water will FLOOD into the front row. This isn't just splash from water. This is the front end of boat dipping below water line. I was DRENCHED.

I have had good luck with sitting in the first row then ducking just as the boat hits the bottom of the big hill.

The last time I did that I was about 13 though so it may be harder for an adult to do.

Last row, left side. Hope that the rest of the passengers aren't all on the hefty side. And wear a poncho. Fashion and hair trumps wimpiness, especially with a signature dinner in your near future.

Sit at the rear and youll get a few drops. Sit at the front and youll get soaked.

Bring a $1 poncho from Target and put it on right before riding. You might feel silly, but you'll stay dry and you won't have to worry

Feel much better! Thank you all! Agree that dry hair and clothes trump wimpiness. I would not have planned Splash Mountain and then a Signature, but these ADR and FP's are not always the easiest to coordinate!

My cousin and her husband had never ever gotten wet on splash, and they spent their teen years and beyond at WDW. Then one day they were head to toe drenched.


I wear a poncho and my rear still gets wet, especially if it's a cheap poncho (bc those are shorter). It protects my chest, but my hair has still gotten wet and my face most definitely.

I take a wash cloth to dry my face and arms. You're going to get wet.
