Splash Mountain to become Princess and the Frog ride

Also, exploration of the Frontier started with the Louisiana Purchase. Tom Sawyer Island and the Riverboat is also mostly based on Missouri. Im not sure how a swampy bayou Louisiana theme is so much of a stretch to fit in there.

Adventureland includes Jungle, Middle Eastern Bazar, and then Caribbean theming. They all blend well

I love Splash Mountain, but ppl seem to be saying that the new theme is a WILDLY different aesthetic than what is there now. Which just isnt the case.
The first Mississippi Steamboat was called New Orleans. St. Louis to New Orleans route was one of the biggest routes.

Only problem is, budgets change for Disney projects all the time. If we’re looking at 2-3 years before construction starts on the ride, what we saw, and what they had planned today will very likely change within now to and when they start. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it winds up being DLR only. And either WDW’s version stays the same, or they come up with another IP or original (lol) idea for the re-theme.

I’m not saying thats what will happen, or thats what I think will happen, just saying I wouldn’t be surprised.

I think they know all eyes will be on them for this and will want to impress.

Again, this ride has potential to be phenomenal!

It's more the music and the time period that doesn't fit. It can be made to, but it will take a little work. I really hope they make the extra effort.

Is there any reason why Disneyland and Magic Kingdom need to have the same redo of this ride? Can DL have one redo and MK have a different redo?
They could but it’s typically cheaper to do two rather than one of each. Less development costs. This is why you often see the same rides trotted around the world.

Yes it was. 80 and 86. I also saw it in the theater, had the album and sing-a-long book.
I had that little 45 and book too. It was hands down my favorite with the songs and animals. I literally wore the record out! As for the ride retheming - I don’t think timing of the announcement is a coincidence.

Why would they, though? Legitimately asking. I’ve seen this suggested in a few places. If they feel there’s a need to overhaul the attraction, though, keeping the name of the old ride doesn’t make sense.

Because the Splash Mountain name has cachet. It's one of "The Mountains." I mean, when they redid The Living Seas, they still called it The Seas. I think they could go with a name like "Splash Mountain with Tiana and Naveen" or "Tiana's Journey to Splash Mountain." It makes the location the setting for everything.

The same could be said for many projects Disney has put forth. I want to be wrong. But Disney suddenly loses budget on projects all the time. And if it’s 2 years before construction begins, I doubt anyone other that Disney fans that love the parks enough to chat on a community board will continue to talk about it over the next 700+ days

In Josh D’Amaro we trust?

We'll find other things to change like adding the Rock to the Jungle Cruise.

But in that money saved, do they potentially lose it in people that would potentially travel to California for a new exclusive attraction, and the same for an exclusive new ride at WDW? Like if there were 4 different attractions (still 2 each) between the 2 Galaxys Edge lands, you’d probably see a lot of cross travel.

Like I said, you change one, you don’t satisfy, you just open the door to wanna change even more things in the park. You can’t satisfy cancel culture. There will always be something else that is deemed offensive.

Now jungle cruise is bad. Gotta change it. Smh

For the record though, I really don’t like that ride and wish they would change it anyway lol

Then we'll have to change the Mountains....

Space Mountain - SPACE FORCE SUPERNAUGHT!!!

Thunder Mountain Railroad - 3:10 TO YUMA!!!

:D

I don't think they really care.
Otherwise they wouldn't have made two identical lands in Star Wars at both parks.

Well...the name Splash Mountain isn't officially linked with SotS or the Brers as far as propriety goes. (as far as I know) It's the reference to the simplest feature of the ride itself. It's a mountain...and there's a big splash.

Well, nothing about that part of the ride is changing. It will still be a mountain, and there will still be a big splash.
