Does anybody have any inside news on this? It seems odd to have a "1 day" refurb. Is this a quick fix or a walk down for a big refurb in 2017?

Likely just a quick one day fix up. I can't see them closing it again in January for refurb.

Monster truckers, that is our only MK day in December and the ride my kid has been looking forward to the most. ARGH.

I'm guessing its something that requires them to drain the attraction to fix, but that its a quick fix once its dry.

Thanks rteetz. So you're thinking there won't be an annual closure in jan/feb?
I don't think there will be this year.

It will be unless disney is controlling the weather now. The holding pond starts to freeze when the overnight temps drop at that time of year.. They just happen to do some sprucing up while they need it drained to protect the ride. I can see it being shorter or maybe only closed on days it needs to be but that's rough for a family to plan around..

Last year it was only closed for 10 days I believe. Disney doesn't know what the weather will be in January. Right now no refurbs for splash are planned except for the one day refurb in December. I honestly don't think we will see another one.

I can agree with that.. I do think we'll see some overnight freeze closures though, but not sure they need to be all day.

I don't think we will but that's just me. Splash has been around since 1992 I think they know how to deal with the cold temperatures by now.

Yesterday was the one day refurb. Any whispers or news from it? Could this be in place of the normal jan/feb closure?

Like just minor fixes that would only take one day. If there was going to be a major Jan/Feb refurb it would have been announced by now.
