Just booked a flight on Spirit. We have flown them before, so we know about ALL the fees (and lots of fees!) and the nonexistent customer service. Not our favorite airline, but it beats driving 18 hours each way!!
I was looking at purchasing seat assignments. I am not a fan of giving Spirit money for seat assignments, but was considering getting 2 seats so my kids can sit next to each other. There are only 3 $10 seats available (none together). No big front seats. Only seats I see are a few $14 and $20 seats (together). Anyone think Spirit will post more available seats for purchase later? Sometimes I have seen Spirit offer rows of $10 seats and as they get filled other rows open up. If there are no cheap $10 seats available at the 24 hour check in will those higher priced seats be given to those who did not pay for seats??? I really like to buy seats/bags closer to our travel date, as they seat fees are non-refundable.
Does Spirit oversell flights? If I don't purchase seats in advance do we have a greater chance of being bumped?
Thanks!
