Spirit of Aloha show with little ones?

I'm wondering if my little ones (will be 18 months and 3YO when we go) would like this show. I was thinking of booking the early show and taking them. They love music and dancing and lights, but will it be too loud?

Its pretty long for little ones. Not sure if they would enjoy it, yes it is on the loud side.

We took our 18 month old to the early show. He enjoyed it, no fussing or crying at all! I did hold him when the "real show" started, he was a little scared of the fire dance. He loved watching and he even danced during part of it. I would say go for it!

We took our girls when they were 3 1/2 & 21 months. They both enjoyed it, and didn't have any problems with how long or loud it was.

The following year we took them to Hoop-Dee-Do when they were 4 1/2 and 2 3/4, and they LOVED it!

If you haven't been to either one, you may want to look into Hoop-Dee-Do and see if it is something that you would be interested in. We really thought (before going to either of them) that we would like Spirit of Aloha better, but all of us liked Hoop so much more. For us, the service and show was just much, much better!

We did the luau last year when my DS was 10 months and DD was 4. My daughter LOVED getting on stage and dancing with the CM's. Son could have cared less, but at that point his world was baby food and bottles! I didn't really think it was that loud, but it was long.

The tough thing I noticed for the little ones was that several times during the show, the stage was vacant. Which was a bit of a magnate for all those budding Hannah Montanas. Once one kid got up there, they all wanted to be up there. That is until there is the announcement that says "for the safety of the performers, guests should remain off the stage" To say some of the kids were unhappy about that was a mild understatement. So dragged off by parents they were, until the next time the stage was empty and they were all up there again. Many tears and tantrums.

As someone else mentioned the show is quite long, and there are periods were nothing is going on, while you eat. Which is why the kids get bored and flock to the stage. I guess you know what you're kids boredom threshold is. My son was 7, and really loved it, we all did, it was a lot of fun. Not sure he would have been quite so good during the lulls in the show if he was a few years younger.

I would say try the Hoop Dee Doo review instead..it is better for your kids ages and one of the few dinner shows that has consistantly received excellent reviews. I am going to the show in August with my kids after reviewing all the comments..and I couldn't find one negative review. The HDD is easy to get to at Fort Wilderness..I am staying at the CR and there is a boat that goes to FW or you can take the boat from the MK...have a great time no matter what you decide!

We took my boys who were then 1 and 3 last January, and they were good. We booked the early show and made it the whole way through. We did, however, bring a backpack of trains and cars as well as coloring books to keep them entertained, but it was a success!
