We are planning a trip next October and looking for something fabulous to do the last night in the World. The trip consists of DH, DS17, DD14, BF, BF's DH, BF's DS5 and ME. (1st trip for BF's family). We were wondering if you had any suggestions, we were thinking Spirit of Aloha or Mickey's BackYard Bar-B-Que? Any other suggestions, HELP???

I think the teens will not be impressed with the Backyard BBQ.

A more fair comparison of options would be the Spirit of Aloha vs the Hoop De Doo Revue. The five year old should be old enough to enjoy either but the slapstick jokey stuff at Hoop De Doo will likely be over his head.

Good luck!

You say something fabulous...do you mean just a meal? If not, how about thinking about an Illuminations cruise at epcot for the show? Have a great dinner at a fun place like biergarten or garden grill with the characters, then hop on board the boat! Well, sounds like fun to me anyway lol

The top of the Contemporary Hotel at the California Grill is one of our favorites! It's hard to get into so make reservations in advance for about 1-1 1/2 hours before the Magic Kingdom fireworks. It's pricey but you get a great meal and a great view! Any of the places to eat at the Floridian are great for seeing fireworks as well. After dinner, just take a short walk to the dock and watch from there! Another really fun place to eat for the whole family is Sunset Sam's at the Gaylord Palms. Just the Gaylord Palms itself is amazing with a huge conservatory like setting, tons of plants, koi fish ponds, alligators and turtles, even a little castle in the middle. Sunset Sam's has a lagoon with a full size sailing boat that you can eat on or eat on the dock (but inside isn't nearly as fun!). They have live Jimmy Buffet style music, a flame swallower, a juggler who balances your wine glass at the tip of a knife, someone on stilts that makes amazing balloon flowers, hats and animals. Just a great time! And you can meet Sunset Sam himself most nights. He's the one with the hat.
